Our wings are not tired.

Middle of the night indigestion sucks. Hope it settled down and you were able to sleep.

So good that you and your niece had the time together.

I should sleep in, but my mind won't stop with the travel details. Like I portioned out food baggies for the animals and put them in a bag for the car, but apparently it landed in another bag or box, and who knows which one. I just hope it isn't too far into the trunk. Sigh. Have to bundle up and dig through.

Ugh, what a pain, Laura, after all the luggage Tetris. Hope you found 'em and that you're off to a good start

Happy to report that I was asleep again in an hour. Did not want to get out of bed this morning, though, I tell you what.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

I'm glad your niece's visit was a good one, Hec.

I haven’t used other things than Teams—what’s better? What is awful?

My department uses Slack, with a Zoom integration for video calls when requested. We feel the UX and customation options are far superior to Teams, and we have a much broader set of integrations available.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

My niece got back home safely where it was apparently in the 20s in Georgia.

Matilda is back to school after being home sick for a couple days.

It's a glorious day in SF, and I'm about to get back to my running, which should have an uninterrupted stretch of days for a while.

Can't believe we're already in Thanksgiving planning mode.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

We use gmail and associated chat, calendar, etc, and Zoom (including our office extensions are actually Zoom phones and the conference rooms are all integrated with Zoom). It's fine, switching between Google meetings and Zoom calls can be confusing because the controls are very similar but not quite the same, but both do the job. None of us make full use of either, I don't think. One of my co-workers only opens Zoom when she has a scheduled call, which to me would be like shoving your desk phone in a drawer all the time, but she figures everyone has her cell number anyway. Although mostly no one calls, almost everything is an email unless it's a meeting or maybe a chat (and our meetings generally would not be better as emails, which I am always grateful to note). My only exposure to Teams was that BB&B kept trying to send us meeting invites through it and that never worked, but since they went bankrupt I haven't had to think about it at all.

We use Slack, Zoom, and then the Google office suite. It works pretty well for us. Slack is the real key to it for us.

Now tagless for your comfort.

My husband LOATHES Teams.

Yeah, we have to use it with some of our bigger clients. Trust me, the only thing worse that teams, is using teams when you are an external client.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

Hello, my lovelies. I keep catching up and then being too overwhelmed to Meara and suddenly without words of my own.

So: continued love to Nilly and Shir, and various assorted ~mas as needed.

I’m so glad you’ve got some time to yourself, Hec.

My psych uses Teams for our sessions, and it’s a pain. That’s all I have on software suites. My complaints are all about Contractor Foreman and ClickUp.

My mental shitstorm has somewhat subsided for the time being. Mostly, I think, because 1) R and I had our biggest tiff to date and got through it pretty well and, relatedly, their new job started 11/1 so there will be money soon! Relatively lots more money. So they can catch up on bills and I can rebuild my emergency fund and hopefully we can get on some kind of budget thing going forward, which will be a new adventure for R. I use YNAB and I’m hoping they will, too.

My body has been semi-well-behaved this week. Here’s hoping I can get some stuff done this weekend - both living places are pretty messy and I hate not knowing where anything is.

What are other folks doing this weekend? We’re also hoping to go hiking or something with the boys.
