Well, other bands know more than three chords. Your professional bands can play up to six, sometimes seven, completely different chords.

the hardest to learn / was the least complicated

Last night when we were straightening up around the bed so the delivery guys wouldn't trip and die on piles of books (me) and pillows (Tim*), I realized it was 10:45 and we didn't have clean sheets to put on the new mattress, and I damn well wasn't going to wash sheets at 10:45 pm. My sweet potato of a brain couldn't take the next logical step, so I told Tim, "Well, I'm just going to put the dirty sheets back on the new mattress. We'll live."

It took until this morning for my sweet potato brain to realize that I could just wash a load of sheets *today,* because as long as I got the bed remade before bedtime, it's all good. So the new mattress is now all set up with clean sheets and ready for bedtime and/or naptime.

*(Part of why we got the new mattress is because Tim has been using a combination of 4 pillows [not counting the one he lays his head on] to support him so he can sleep in a comfortable position. He basically sleeps in a pillow fort, but with the new mattress, he should be able to ditch at least 2 of the pillows.)

Our wings are not tired.

Pillow forts are the bestest. I use a large number of pillows. I have a so-called reading pillow, but really stacks of them work better. And of course you need a cuddle pillow and a back support pillow.

Thrive to spite them

Pillow forts are nice but they do take up room on the bed.

M usually has a pillow hoard under his head and I'm where I'm good with 2 as long as one is the squishy pillow that molds to my head

So I heard back from Fiskars on Amazon , they told me to "pacify" me they could bump up to 20% discount. Or I could return it to Amazon. I thought I had to try the seller first. So now through Amazon I'm getting a full refund. This makes no sense.

Also yesterday all day I thought it was Sunday. I don't know why.

Seriously, if he added 1 more pillow, I think I'd end up with 1/4 of the bed as my real estate.

Well, at least you're getting a full refund from *someone.*

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

oh, Shir, I'm glad you're still alive. I think of you and hope you continue alive and uninjured (physically).

On the lighter side, I've been watching YouTube videos in which experts on, say, historic naval warfare give their views on movie/TV depictions (wood floats) or piracy. In this one, an expert on historic pirates ends up rating the realism in The Muppet Treasure Island ("the most beautiful woman on the planet ... and she's a pig").

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Last night wasn’t too bad. No meltdowns and Mr. S went to bed at a reasonable time. (Maybe he got tired running around trick-or-treating)

Laura, you're always an early-morning timezoned poster to me. Have a safe and uneventful voyage.

ND, I hope that the business news would be better, and that you'd be able to be less stressed about it.

meara and David, oh, how it's the everyday sort of things that "ping" the loss so much. My heart goes out to you.

Sheryl, I hope you'll be able to get back home as soon and as peacefully as possible. It reads so frustrating, on so many levels.

Also, askye wrote so well about hoe the experience may be especially difficult on Mr. S.

It took until this morning for my sweet potato brain to realize that I could

Hey, but you've figured it out on time, so go you! And congrats on the new mattress - may it be good for backs and just-the-right-amount-of-pillows and naps and good dreams.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

I only had two trick-or-treaters for Halloween rather than the horde I was expecting. But they were cute, and made me feel my preparations weren't entirely in vain. I'll just have leftover candy for the next month or two.
