Happy Birthday, Brenda!
And Happy Birthday +1 to Kate!
I'm going to visit my aunt at the beach today through Friday. Many miles to go before I depart...
Beaming love to all.

Meanwhile, in local humor: one survivor posted this picture of his house [link] it says: "We always felt that not enough natural light entered the house".
Shir, I am not getting the photo, but bless him for keeping his humor.
Oh, sorry. I accidentally copied the wrong link, it's fixed now.
Fixed. And Oh My! Tough to keep a sense of humor there.
Dermatological Update: the Prednisone has stopped the swelling except a little puffiness under one eye. Also, it's not itchy or burning anymore.
Dr. Watkins has booked me for a Red Light Treatment at 11:30 am today which should alleviate the irritation and redness.
I'm at the stage where my old skin is flaking off everywhere. My skin is very scaly waiting for my new snake skin to emerge.
ION, Jacqueline got her new bank debit card which means I have until Halloween to change all of her autopays which are numerous. Oh well, this will push me to finish that series of Onerous Tasks.
Unhoused Teenagers Update: Niki texted me the other day and asked me to take her to the Optician to get new glasses because she needs to go with an adult. She asked Matilda if she thought I'd mind. Matilda said, "Are you kidding?! He's the one that's been pestering the school counselors to get you new glasses." So I get to take her to her appointment.
You are such a mensch, Hecubus. Most people I know would not get involved with that. Stuck with serious thoughts all day.
Good to hear that the face of fire has calmed down. Thank you for all you do for these teens.
Tough to keep a sense of humor there.
There's humor, though. I'll avoid the very dark humor here, but there are ancdotes.
Soccer team A arrived to one of the hotels where one kibbutz was evacuated to. That kibbutz was traditionally a fan of soccer team B. One of the elders saw the team gives merch to the excited kids and muttered, dead serious, "good thing Haim was kidnapped. He'd die if he was here now".
You are such a mensch, Hecubus.
Co-sign.
You are such a mensch, Hecubus.
Thanks. One tries.
Most people I know would not get involved with that.
God knows I didn't want to get involved. But it was the right choice and I'm glad I did it. And I'm also glad that they still see me as a resource, something stable in their lives.
Stuck with serious thoughts all day.
May you find a pleasant diversion.
Went to see Dr. Watkins for my Red Light Treatment (which didn't hurt! Woo!)
I sang her the "Dr. Watkins" song and she was delighted and honored. "I've never had a song written about me before!"
