You've got friends to have good times with. When you need to share the trauma of a badly-written book with someone, that's when you go to family.

I'm going off island Wednesday and there will certainly be a stop.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

Iffin you don't find any, I'll bring a couple up for you.

Thanks, love.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

Being unable to attend in person and partake of communion, as I was just saying to Amelia, the body of Christ today was played by a Mallomar, and in the role of the blood of salvation, we have fair trade decaf instant coffee.

Trail mix and ginger-peach tea for me. I was able to watch from my office at work with almost no interruption. It was a lovely, welcoming service. The Vince Guaraldi song was where I welled up a bit.

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

Hello loves. I'm sorry I keep forgetting to check in, but I think of everyone often, especially on days like this.

It was a lovely service and in such a beautiful space. The flowers were quite vibrant, and Pastor Bea was wonderful.

M, Peanut, & I picked Sylvie up & we all got to come in together & give hugs to Hec & Matilda & talk with Noise & -t & Lois. It was this little isle of Buffistadom. And then someone (named Walter) who used to watch Buffy with JZ IRL recognized Martin - turns out Walter lives in our neighborhood. Small city.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

And then someone (named Walter) who used to watch Buffy with JZ IRL recognized Martin

aka, Salty Walt, one of the best known singers of sea chanties and pirate songs in the RenFaire world.

I'm done cried out for now. Matilda kept leaning over and saying things like, "You're doing really good, Daddy. I'm proud of you."

I was like, Girl don't run my parenting script on me.

It was good to hug all the Buffistae. Really appreciate Drew flying up for it, and Tamara driving.

I told my MiL that I picked the last song for her, and me and Jacqueline. But she was caught off guard when he played "Cast Your Fate On The Wind." A favorite that she had played endlessly around the house when Jacqueline was growing up, and always made her misty when I played it.

She came over to me and hugged me and whispered in my ear, "My baby girl is gone."

So, united in sorrow in that moment, at least.

I'm a fucking amazing catch!--Fiona Gallagher, Shameless(US)

Can't say I'm glad, exactly--it's too horrible, but, given that, I am.

the hardest to learn / was the least complicated

Vince Guaraldi often makes me think of Jacqueline, but now I'll specifically associate that song with her.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I've been thinking of you all day, David, and hope you get to rest tomorrow.

Good Trouble and Righteous Fights

I was driving most of the day, but I watched the service after the fact when I got to my vacation rental in NE Georgia this evening. So beautiful and so fitting, and I completely agree with everyone about the wonderfulness of Pastor Bea.
