Buffy: A Guide, but no water or food. So it leads me to the sacred place and then a week later it leads you to my bleached bones? Giles: Buffy, really. It takes more than a week to bleach bones.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Very nice, Matt!

A colleague called me like the minute the inauguration ceremony was over, asking me intense work questions about other people's areas of expertise, and I was just like, "I have no idea! Are you kidding me??" I did not actually say that, but it was basically the upshot. Just send me an email, sheesh.

Congrats on the vaccine availability, Shir! That's incredible!! Even general old people aren't able to sign up for anything yet where I live.

I look more rad than Lutheranism

My dad (the grocery store worker and heart patient) gets his first shot of the vaccine on Monday, which is coincidentally the day after he turns 79.

"You can't put a price on the joy of not giving a shit." -Zenkitty

I have not done anything celebratory because my day so far has been consumed by work and last-minute meetings. Unless eating a sandwich using bread that I baked myself counts?

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

Yay Steph's dad!

Have we seen the marching band yet??? I just got to get on because work was so zoom meeting heavy.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Yay vaccine for dad of Tep!

According to my mom, the vaccine rollout has been wildly inconsistent around here, with some areas having extra doses (possibly due to people choosing not to get it, possibly just because the distribution was wack) to make available to the next tier. She said signing up for her appointment was like trying to buy concert tickets for a popular show. She had to sit on my dad and force him to keep going until he got an appointment, he does not do well with the "sorry, that date is no longer available" messages. I haven't heard yet that my brother that works in the care facility has gotten his, and I think he would say, so that's a little troubling. Everyone else I would know about is further down in the chart, I think.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

Yay Steph's dad!

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

The TVs in the various meeting rooms were all turned to the Inauguration so I got glimpses as I went about my work. The longest I could watch was actually Trump departing the WH, which was sufficiently satisfying. What a dumpster fire of an executive branch that was.

The only good thing I can imagine coming out of this is that we can use it as a Dread Example whenever somebody says something along the lines of "How bad could [Candidate X] be anyway?"

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

My sister was supposed to get her first shot a week ago this past Monday, but they didn't have enough vaccine.
