Birthday happies smonster and Sophia!
As you might remember (I really want to use the phrase "as all the world knows" but this is not quite right for that), my department at work has been more or less continuously re-organizing for years now. Well, I got an official "offer letter" to sign yesterday for the job I have been doing since February and the title we agreed I should have in, I think, July and that I report to the boss I've had since May, so maybe we have some stability in the offing? All the other shuffling around did not have actual paperwork, just movement on the electronic org chart (and physical desk changes). I'm still halfway expecting that in a couple of months the whole company will decide to do some kind of strategy swerve and we will be tossed once more into flux, but it seems like there's a good chance that won't happen.
Incidentally, I'm told I am the only person in the department who went from being a Senior Something to being just plain Something Else with no modifier so now I am second guessing that decision a little bit, but my salary isn't changing so on the whole I don't think it matters and I can push for a promotion faster as I settle into the new role, so I do think it probably was the right move.
