I got through teaching today. I gave the students a review packet and had them work on that in groups. I started out with wandering around the classroom answering questions like I usually do, but I started getting tired and out of breath, so I sat down at the desk in front and told the students to come up to me if they had questions, and they seemed OK with that.

That sounds like a good move, Hil. Take as much care of yourself as you can!

Once I listened to a whole Pink Floyd album and thought, oh it *does* help to be high while listening to this.

I just got tickets to go see The State, which makes me think of meara and $240 worth of pudding.

How are folks doing today? I’m making a practice of coming here first instead of fb because I like the flow of conversation and y’all are folks I actually care about and trust.

I am... actually having a challenging day with DH. Or, we are with each other, I guess. Talking past each other seems to be the order of the day. Will try more mending tonight after swim.

In good news, the community center pool re-opened today after two loooooonnnnng months, so I'm excited to go swimming again.

I had an in-person work function today that involved a lot of peopling. I put on my best customer service persona for some of the interactions and some of my coworkers, who are used to quiet and mildly cynical Calli, did visible double takes. It was fun! But I’m tired now. I also dyed my hair purple over the weekend (Overtone purple for brown hair). It mostly shows in the highlights where my white hair was when I’m inside, but outside it’s pretty purple. I’m very happy with it. One of the nice things about work is that the purple hair did not cause double takes, just a few compliments.

Hil, I’m so glad you listened to your body and called 911, and I’m sort of astonished you were teaching today. Please continue to rest!

I had a good meeting with my boss today after writing a cover letter for another job on my lunch hour, and I hardly know what to do with myself. (I mean, he didn’t apologize or anything but he seems prepared to let me actually be the lead in onboarding my new staff member.)

Wait are they touring or something? What??? A fb memory the other day was of a friend being at a buffet and tagging all of us from college who watched that in a pic of a giant thing of pudding saying $240 doesn’t go as far these days

30th anniversary tour!

Update on the star tile for our bathroom remodel--we decided to go with the black on white version, and use it for the shower walls. Compromise! [link]

And we've now settled on pretty much everything but the paint color, which is OK to pick last because it's easy to get it locally. I foresee the usual debate where I prefer dark, rich hues and Dylan thinks they don't belong in so small a room. Odds are pretty good we compromise on sage green and I dig in my heels for the darkest shade of it I can find.
