I somehow managed to pick up a headcold a few weeks back, but so far still no Covid (knocks on all wood or wood-grained items in the vicinity).
I was supposed to talk to my doctor today about vaccinations (not just vaccinations, of course, they're just on the list). They had me do flu & Covid while dealing with the cancer, but hold off on shingles. Now I'm not on chemo anymore, do they want me to get the shingles vaccine back on the schedule? Are flu & Covid both still recommended?, etc. So, of course, I got a call that the doc was called away & had to postpone my appt. I'm getting better about writing myself lists & notes & questions to take to my appts, so I'm unlikely to forget when I see him Monday, but I hate having to rearrange plans & whatnot.
Princess? Would she accept the title of princess of Halloween? But erika's suggestion is good.
Starting as a courtier is definitely an idea.
Epic, thank you! I'm having surgery on my shoulder on the 26th, and you reminded me I need to ask if I should get a Covid booster and/or flu shot beforehand. But also, I'm sorry the whole thing is so complicated.
Happy birthday to TomW!
It's forecasted to hit 102 today, 104 tomorrow, and 106 on Friday. Actual temps, not heat index.
Crazy temps. We were on the Canadian border on the St. Lawrence and it was 90. Places there only have fans. But it was still grand storming the castle. We went to a small pub in Alexandria Bay and I had a Riesling from Thousand Island Vineyards that was super tasty. It tasted like biting into an alcohol-infused apple. Also had fried cheese curds dipped in maple syrup. Decadence. Two days of wandering with the family visiting various places along the border was a delight.
The next thing is for the asbestos mitigation team to start working on the tile floors, but because of said issues, they won’t be able to start work until next week.
Bleah indeed! I'm sorry it is taking so long.
Negative covid test wishes for all. And yes, Epic, making a list beforehand is so helpful. I hate getting home and remembering what I forgot to ask!
I got to spit in a tube and. They have sent it off for genetic testing. They were like “do you want to test for the basic stuff or more?” And I was all “clearly you haven’t met me. Test ALL the Things!”
Sheryl that sounds awful! And a long time out of your house.
After it taking forever to get a contractor to talk to us about our bathroom remodel, we found one who wants to start next week! So now we're scrambling to clear space in the garage to receive deliveries of tile, fixtures, and the like, not to mention clear out the two bathrooms slated for reconstruction. Also we need to make up our mind about just what tile, fixtures, etc. to get, and quick-like. Which brings us to the eternal debate:
Dylan: We must respect the mid-century modern style of the house.
Me: Awww. Don't wanna!
Currently, this involves me pleading the case for this as the floor tile for our tiny master 3/4 bath: [link]
I think it would be gorgeous in an otherwise simple room, one with white walls and simple, non-fussy choices for the vanity, shower tile, fixtures, etc. But it's decidedly not mid-century modern.
Princess? Would she accept the title of princess of Halloween? But erika's suggestion is good.
I can maybe convince her if she can have her ow minions.
That is really cool tile!
I know, right! (Though I have a feeling this weekend will involve visiting a specialty tile store or two and seeking a compromise.)
I've told a friend before (unintentionally) that the lurkers support them in email.
