Ooo, t-shirt dresses are great. I actually lump caftans, muumuus, and all that stuff under “caftan lifestyle.” Any comfy floaty dress, really.

Because books.

Comfy, floaty dress is my favorite thing. I'm more than ready for the caftan portion of the program.

Good luck on the X-rays, smonster.

Me and the "children" are going to PA Renfaire, which I've never been to. I intend to raise a glass in JZ's honor, possibly more than once.

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

I essentially wear a dressy caftan every single day to work. Everyone thinks I am dressy, and I am basically wearing a nightgown.

We have a venerated programmer, Bob, who wears the exact same red shirt, black pants, and hat every day. WFH, summer heat, etc. (We love Bob). I think they mat be exactly the same clothes he had in the seventies/eighties. I was trying to explain to a “frolleague” that Bob and are are so much alike, with the example that I too wear the same exact thing every single day, it is just one particular style of dress in many colors and patterns, a scarf, and flip flops or boots. When I first met him, I knew we would be friends, but he is so shy and I am so awkward that we didn’t really connect until we worked with this lovely woman who is like an extroverted ball of energy who brings all the awkward shy people under her wing and gets them to do stuff. She has now left the University and we are kind of bereft, so now we meet every Friday to work on our program but we just sort of go in aimless circles because neither of us can bring the “get it done” energy to it.

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe

I wear t-shirt dresses from late spring through early fall. They're the best. One with pockets are perfect.

Thrive to spite them

T shirt dresses are awesome, although I mostly wear them around the house.

Job interview was....not what I expected and I don't want that job. Not just because it was slightly different than what I thought it would be but the team lead casually mentioned 2 work place injuries including getting hit on the head by falling boxes. I know that's going to be something that happens but to mention it so casually like it happens all the time was not what I want to hear.

Going back to the community center idea--there is nothing like that around here. There are almost no ways to take any kind of community classes. In Tallahassee, growing up (and I guess now) the Parks and Rec center offered lots of different classes and there were also personal enrichment classes at the community college. And in Brevard/Hendersonville it's the same thing- there are personal enrichment classes. The only real community center is the senior center.

But here in the Greenville area there aren't community college, just tech college and they don't offer that. There is no parks and rec programs. So the only thing I found for arts and crafts are through galleries and really expensive or geared towards seniors (and some are expensive) or kids. The public library offers some things and the variety seems to be going back to what it was before the pandemic but those are all 1 classes or drop in things and not something you'd get at a community center.

hip deep in pie

Much love to you David. And I think you're right to wait with the service.

My basic philosophy of dressing has been to feel like I'm wearing pajamas while looking presentable to the world.

Our wings are not tired.

I have a number of flowy comfy dresses because they are cool to wear in Florida. I am all about the comfort. Now here in Otter Lake that means sweatpants, sweaters, and thick socks.

My son's GF has a couple days off this week so I have talked DH into a road trip. Going up to Alexandria Bay to do the tourist thing and tromp around Boldt Castle [link] then going over near St. Regis Falls where a lifelong family friend has 40 acres of land they are making into campsites. He says the highlight is the fire pit with comfy reading chairs. Just chilling with the family time. Really ready for it. (of course there is the work thing which will be tricky since my son covers for me and he will be with me, but hey hot spots and laptops)
