Natter 77: I miss my friends. I miss my enemies. I miss the people I talked to every day.
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
That dress looks cozy, shrift
That dress looks lovely, shrift!
I can't wait to see your pictures msbelle.
I got my tax forms back. In my haste to mail them out I forgot to sign and I didn't include my 1099 form. I think. Everything was stapled together so I have to remove staples and reread things. But at least I have some info about what happened.
Also it looks like there is a way on your 2020 returns to indicate you didn't get your stimulus and can claim it then.
That is an awesome dress shrift.
And my store manager is leaving. He got a promotion to regional...they call it vice president not manager. He won't be leaving for a bit. It's in Mississippi so he will be working from here until he can sell his house and move his family.
He is hands down the best Big Boss I've ever had and I know there are lots of us who feel the same way.
So, exploring the Roku Channel yesterday we discovered that Batman (60s TV version) was on there for free. So we introduced Matilda to the wonders of Campy Batman.
Things I had forgotten:
1) The Pilot features Frank Gorshin's The Riddler (arguably the most iconic of the TV show villains), and Jill St. John as his sidekick.
2) Yes, this is the one that has Jill in the Robin costume and Batman pining after her later.
3) It is also the episode where Batman does the Batusi! (cf., Pulp Fiction)
4) The highlight of the show's not-serious sense of humor was Batman warning Robin about "Pedestrian Safety!" and carefully pulling out a Bat-Hook to stick on the wall and hang a bit of iron grating they'd just lasered through.
5) Lasers were so new, Adam West pronounced it "Lay-zarr."
6) I had somehow forgotten that TV Batman's cowl is actually purple-ish rather than black. Also, his Bat-eyebrows (on the cowl) are Aqua. Yeah, go back and look at it. Aqua eyebrows.
7) TV Batmobile is so fucking rad. It really looks amazing. Never bettered.
8) Matilda thought the fight scene "Pow!" and "Zok!" elements amusing.
9) She thought the acting was much like 6th grade video projects.
10) I had sort of forgotten how much the animated Tick owes to Adam West's constant references to "Chum."
Happy belated, msbelle! Have fun in your vacation.
A channel here, SBS Viceland, played the 60s Batman eps a year or two ago. Ryan thought it was fantastic, as well he might.
Landed in Orlando, waiting on bus to Disney to depart. Things have been pretty empty this far.
Have fun, msbelle!
Glad you got your papers back and can hopefully figure all that out, askye
Well fuck. In "suspected this was going to happen, but DAMMIT" news, the naked lady soaking spa that was three blocks from my house is closing because of the financial hit they've taken from being closed for the past year. This was the place that was my living room away from home; being able to soak in a pool for 3 hours a day 4x a week made a huge difference to my pain levels.
Dammit, dammit, dammit.
