Ha, yeah, I am the queen of qualifiers when answering questions sometimes.

When I first came to the Board, it was after running from the eye-bleed, panic-inducing layouts of every other board I'd visited. It's so clean and calm here for an always sensitive, but especially visual noice avoiding, person like myself.

And, just now, I appalled myself by thinking, "Gee, I wish there was an emoji button."

I DIDN'T MEAN IT. I momentarily lost my mind. I'll lie down on the floor until it passes.

(And still, I just want to interact with and support all your posts. Even when time and focus are not available.)

If I am just talking to you, I might do that. Maybe a tangent or two, though I am getting better at connecting them to whatever my larger point was, these days. But not with, you know, a bureaucrat or an intake such as Tep describes...sometimes, the one place I wish I could be like a militia man and make up a rank and serial number for myself, or almost. You wouldn't recognize me. But I have learned the hard way that there are places where being completely Myself doesn't pay off.

Tim is constitutionally incapable of giving a simple answer to any question.

Are he and Brendon related? I have no issue with Yes/No. Queen of brevity. This did not serve me well with school papers because they didn't appreciate the conciseness.

The physical therapist is here asking all the intake questions, and Tim is constitutionally incapable of giving a simple answer to any question. It's driving me insane to listen to, and I bet it's driving the PT nuts, too.

I feel like I'm both of these. I will over explain because I want the person to Be Sure They Understand but also watching someone do that makes me impatient and just get to the point because I will get lost in all the words.

I've ever been the Eudora Welty of 'splaining. Somehow or other in srs discussions I manage to wangle my inner moppet into a corner and reply consisely. Meanwhile cornered moppet is yammering on with qualifiers and side notes and tangents and is increasingly angry and frustrated at being corralled. I don't know how it happened, that kind of control, but I do have it, when needed. Then of course DH or the next friend (or possible stranger) I talk to gets an incoherent, rambling earful. So things do balance out, for me, though those in my periphery sometimes suffer a puzzling tangled earful.

In short, I feel you, Tim and Zen. And Brendan.

Today it's like we have a tiny staff helping us: the physical therapist has been here, the home care aide (for showering) is currently here, the lawn guy showed up while the physical therapist was here, and my mom is bringing homemade soup later.

I just learned this last week... I feel old.

I've been lurking and following, but haven't had much to say. My love and sympathy to all who are having a hard time (yes, JZ's at the top of the list, but Tim and others I can't think of right now are on my list as well). I wish everyone pain meds that work (not too well) and all the comfort there is.

I'm going through a work-related SITUATION but have hopes of it being solved soon.
