It warms my heart that Javier has a loving home with you.
Javier is a joy, once he's comfortable with one. My home is better for him being here. He's home from the vet now, with a collar and a shaved leg, most unhappy with his recent experiences.

anyone wanna bet which show she has stubbornly refused to watch throughout the whole of high school?
That made me laugh/snort. (Jim, I came along after you left, I'm pretty sure, so, nice to meet you.)
Very glad the G-tube procedure went well.
Listen, I was an adult when Buffy came out and it still took me a year to accept my parents' recommendation of it!
I bought ltc the Buffy picture book so I could indoctrinate her early, but right now we’re still working our way through ST:TOS.
maybe, smonster? I have no idea. I should change it to something Barbie.
Yeah you should! Now I want to do that, too.
Aww, Javi. Scritch him for me.
This is a long one, y’all. (ETA crap, I forgot how to do numbered lists and my lunch is past over)
I know things are rough right now, and partially because of that I want to share some major joy in my life.
1. this thing with Robby is the real deal. We are every disgusting schmoopy romcom trope. We don’t believe in woo but it believes in us (astrology, tarot). We’re moving so fast but it feels entirely appropriate and not out of control. Which means… I’m gonna be a kind of bonus parent. Which is wild.
2. That means that we want to start living together ASAP but we are grown so it’s complicated. I’ve accepted that the easiest short term solution is for me to move to the murder cabin on the Northshore, hopefully in the next 6 mos. I can’t wait. I’m hiring an organizer to help us purge.
3. He got fired the day after we got back from Margaritaville* and it was the best thing that could have happened. Because he finally felt free and let go of trying to make those people like him and… realized that he is trans. Pronouns and identity are in flux, but he does kind of like the term lesbian which delights me. I’m delighted about all of it, really, to the point where I need to make room for his grief (and mine, too, but I’m going to deal with that with my therapist and a trans friend). In retrospect, SO MUCH MAKES SENSE. I dubbed him an honorary lesbian just a few weeks in. Turns out it’s for real.
4. On top of all of this, I got bumped up to 80 mg Prozac and it’s a goddamn miracle. I actually cried the other night for my past self. I wasn’t making it up. It really was that hard. I can actually THINK now. There are almost no car alarms. I feel more motivated to do things.
I told Robby last night I wished I could take her back in time to an f2f. She’d fit right in with the corsets and the eyeliner.
You know how people say they married their best friend? I’m becoming best friends with my partner and it’s amazing.
My entire life is wild right now. WILD. Which I kind of like because it makes me think of Untamed. We are goddamn cheetahs.
I have their permission to tell people, but as usual what is said on b.org…
* that’s another story
Smonster, I’m so very happy for you!!! How many kids do they have? And I’m so glad the meds are working. I’m finally on a cocktail of meds that work wonders for me when they’re not out of stock at the pharmacy, and it really makes quite a difference.
I just got my volunteer job mansplained to me by a jerk who obviously didn’t see my “Not Today” t shirt.
Boo on mansplaining.
Two boys, 12 and 14. He told them yesterday and their mom, too. Their mom has a trans partner, too, so she’s very supportive.
That’s awesome.
The lesbian thing explains the moving-in thing. :-)
Are you going to be commuting from the Northshore?
Thanks for sharing that, and it's great to hear you sounding happy and balanced. Sometimes I love modern medicine.
