Yay for Gud!

I'm so sorry, askye, it's so hard.

My sister got remarried on Thursday, and it was so lovely. The weather warmed up just in time for the evening in the hills: all the jackets went unused and there was a gorgeous sunset. Since then we've had lovely times with family and close friends. It's been really nice, despite the heat.

I got my makeup done professionally for the first time, and it was nice, but I hardly got any photos, and I didn't really learn anything I could do myself. So that was interesting but unrepeatable.

It has been decades since I wore any makeup. I consider it from time to time, but it is so hot and humid here no matter what I wore it would be a puddle. And also it would keep me from taking a wet washcloth to my face at any time during the day to cool off.

I'm sorry, askye. It really does sound like a dire situation.

Off to my siblings' coast for a few days. Judi has surgery tomorrow. Have a pet sitter here who sounds pretty awesome so hopefully Skinner will have a fun vaca. Now that I am packed up I am going to watch a couple episodes of something to chill before hitting the road.

Wow. I leave for a week and Gud looses and gains an entire job. Way to go, Gud!

Askye, I’m sorry about your aunt. C. diff is a bitch when you’re otherwise healthy. It’s gotta really suck as a co-infection. I hope you can go with your mom.

I’m glad the Zmayhem birthdays were good.

Sorry about the air issues, Midwest folks. We’ve had not good days here, but that’s mostly NC in July.

A week without reading books or social media was an experience. I’m glad it’s over. But I got a lot more sleep, and my eyes enjoyed the break.

Timelies all!

Friday night we went to a concert that was fun.(also full of swearing-it was the farewell concert for the main group and they called it the "So Long, and Thanks for all the fucks" show)

We picked up Mr. S yesterday around lunch time, and have him here until Tuesday.(Gary is taking tomorrow off) Last night was rough- Mr. S had a major meltdown, complete with throwing things. Then he woke up a few times during the night and came into our room, so nobody got much sleep. Hoping tonight and tomorrow night will be better.

Oh Sheryl, I do hope tonight brings you all peace and sleep.

Ah, way to end the weekend....went out to the mailbox and had a jury duty notice! Thankfully I can postpone it online, since it's for when I'll be out of town. Hoping that as that postponed date gets closer I can postpone again if need be, since I have no idea what'll be going on then. Also I served on a jury once and that was more than enough for me (ah the saga of men playing craps in an alley leading to murder leading to a gay Jamaican stool pigeon informing the DA of a plan to throw a jury for someone you knew in middle school and kill a witness for a guy you just met in jail....)

That is some jury drama, meara! My only jury experience was civil hilarity and a good time was had by all. (and justice served) How I have only served after having been registered to vote for over 50 years is a mystery. I am here to serve up justice!

I love jury duty! And actually just got a notice recently for the first time in at least 7 years. I asked to switch the location, which also switched the date, so I'm not actually going until next spring.
