Hospice was so amazing for my grandfather.

Natter 77: I miss my friends. I miss my enemies. I miss the people I talked to every day.
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
I've only experienced good hospice situations although I feel we should have called for my Dad much earlier than we did. It wasn't my call to make though and I accepted that even at the time.
meara, I wish you more quality time and some peace. You are in such a difficult place.

So much this. I don't know what to say besides that I am thinking about you and sending you so much love.
Yesterday was my last night in Otter Lake so of course we went to the movies. There was one other family in the theater with us! Tiny family owned theater which the local population supports as much as possible. The town even had a nice fundraising effort during Covid when they had to close the doors. Anyway, we went to see The Little Mermaid. It was quite delightful and a good time was had by all. My (51 yo) nephew sang to us on the way to and from, as well as during. The original was his favorite. He also declared it a delight.
ION, the air is worse than ever this morning. Big orange sunrise and a terrible haze. I don't know how people in more frequent fire areas manage. My throat is sore. Yuck. I'll be ready to get on the plane later.
Weirdly, the sky is blue here this morning.
Air quality warning here today too.
I am so sorry, meara.
Today is my wfh day and I am taking it as easy as possible.
Even here we have haze and air quality warnings. The graphs in the paper comparing to previous years are yikes.

It doesn't look as hazy here today as it did yesterday, but my entire respiratory system is screaming in pain. I can only imagine how folks are doing upstate and in Ontario this week.
It is weird hearing about smoke and bad air and not being in it. Masks and respirators help, if you have access to any - those masks with the valve that we aren't supposed to use for COVID are pretty sweet for smoke. It's one of those obvious things that I forget I can do so I am reminding those of you who are in it that it might be something to remember.
