Natter 77: I miss my friends. I miss my enemies. I miss the people I talked to every day.
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
I hope Tim can let himself take it easy meanwhile.
His body is forcing him to. Poor noodle.
The good news at Stately Beckmeyer Manor is that, for the past 2 weeks, my energy levels have been *markedly* improved, consistently, for the first time in like 14 months, so it seems like the long Covid has fucked off (or is at least headed out the door). I'm definitely knocking on wood, because I don't want to jinx myself. I keep asking Tim "Did...did I feel like this before? Was this how I felt all the time? Holy shit!!!" I just have so much energy and it feels like the Technicolor has been turned way up on everything. It's fucking amazing.
So I'm in a really good position to take care of Tim after his surgery, which is going to be so much better than taking care of him when I felt like exhausted crap after his surprise lung surgery in October. (He's really sick of surgeries, obviously. Hoping this one is the last one for a long, long time. Or ever! Ever would be good, too!)
My next step is to improve my cardio capacity, because WOW, you cannot jump from basically nothing to 30 minutes on the bike unless you have a crash cart waiting to resuscitate your completely out-of-shape self. (I *didn't* bike for 30 minutes, because I decided to stop. I'm stubborn but not totally insane.)
Oh, that is excellent news, Tep!
Good news Tep. I hope that the break in work helps Tim.
Sending positive vibes to you and Tim.
My Monday is...Monday ish. I got the settlement offer. Money wise it is about the best I am going to get. There is also $100 if I resign because me not working at the company anymore is going to be a thing. Probably part of any settlement.
I can wait for the neuro psych eval and continue working and the settlement offer will more than likely go down. Unless they find something massively wrong with me it probably won't go up.
The lawyer said of we accept now she could push for more money from the settlement. She can also push back on the employment thing but nothing is going tonstop them from firing me after I settle if I keep the job.
Sh would make part of the settlement so that I'm eligible for unemployment.
I have a lot to think about. Part of me feels like hiring a lawyer didn't really do much overall but I don't know. Part of me is just ready to be done with this and deal with change.
Have therapist appointment on Wed. So will discuss this.
I’m headed back to Baltimore after college reunion weekend and a couple of visits with my very sick friend. Last night was the worst I have seen her, but this morning she was markedly improved. She had to stop the last trial she was on as it wasn’t shrinking the tumors and was causing other problems. The hope is to get her strong and stable enough to get into another trial. Still, we are talking more about through the summer plans and not her son’s graduation plans (he’s 16). Cancer can fuck right off.
I'm glad things are looking better for you, Steph. I hope everything continues to move forward well for Tim's surgery.
I'm sorry, msbelle.
Today was pretty busy for me at work. I led a major presentation, then I'll be assisting with another one tomorrow. Then the same, two weeks from now. It's definitely my busy month.
Good stuff, Steph.
I'm sorry, msbelle.
askye, that's a lot to think about -- good luck sorting it out.
Laura, glad son is enjoying new wheels.
Very Monday here, but nothing report-worthy.
Had a great day yesterday at a brunch at a friend's house in Annapolis and then meeting a different group for dinner in DC... with a nap in-between. Good times.
Timelies all!
Got my car back from the body shop, finally.
Otherwise, nothing special.
For those of you wondering if Matilda's friend Iris was going to get her passport in time: she did. Because her parents called our local Representative, Nancy Pelosi, and then camped at the passport office at 5am and made it happen.
Iris had spent $2K of her own money (from her job at the ice cream shop) and another thousand fund raised at school for this trip, so it's a good thing she got it.
Now we just have to keep Matilda entertained through June.
Good morning and welcome to Tuesday.
