For those of you wondering if Matilda's friend Iris was going to get her passport in time: she did. Because her parents called our local Representative, Nancy Pelosi, and then camped at the passport office at 5am and made it happen.
Iris had spent $2K of her own money (from her job at the ice cream shop) and another thousand fund raised at school for this trip, so it's a good thing she got it.
Now we just have to keep Matilda entertained through June.

One summer we ran out of summer camps for Emmett and I just broke down and bought him a Gameboy in August. I think he put 80 hours on Pokemon Diamond.

Ugh, my credit card has fraudulent charges. My bank is on top of it, which is great, but it's such a pain in the ass to have the card cancelled, wait for the new card to be sent, and then have a whole new credit card number to memorize.
I hope Matilda finds ways to keep herself entertained.

Oh, hey, and the book is out today. I'm going to have to psych myself up to read it, so much of it is going to be what I kind of knew but didn't know was exactly that bad and that is all going to be rough.
