Natter 77: I miss my friends. I miss my enemies. I miss the people I talked to every day.
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
So I've been trying to hire on permanently this guy who has been a contractor for us (full-time) for about a decade. He's really awesome, very knowledgeable, good with everyone. We announced the position, he applied, I told HR I wanted him-- and they said he wasn't eligible because he hadn't uploaded a copy of his transcript with his application.
I'm beside myself. This was our opportunity for us to get him on board, and for him to have a more secure position. And it's fucked up. They don't even need his official transcript! But he's dealing with some family stuff right now, and must have just missed that bit of the announcement.
I don't know what we're going to do. So upsetting.
Oh that’s annoying Consuela. I always hear government hiring is the weirdest.
I would take any of the food options mentioned they all sound great! Though maybe no pickled onions with the salmon.
Hey Teppy, don't want to ruin your perfect day, but is there a connection between Plaquenil and Doxycycline Hyclate? I was prescribed the former, but got the latter from CVS. Are they comparable? I mean, I could call the doctor's office, but why not just ask people on the internet.
Fuck.
One of Matilda's two closest friends (Mia) just got released from a psych ward after trying to commit suicide.
She tried to call Matilda but...Matilda's phone didn't have a SIM card so she didn't get the call.
Everything feels so chaotic and consequential.
I've got to say this narrative has serious pacing issues.
As an editor I have notes.
I'm so tired and sad and frazzled.
David, that is so stressful and sad, for all of you. Thank goodness Mia's okay, though.

They are definitely not the same -- Plaquenil is an anti-rheumatic drug used for malaria, lupus, and rheumatoid arthritis; Doxycycline is an antibiotic BUT it's also used for malaria (which I just learned), like Plaquenil, so if you were prescribed the Plaquenil as a preventive for malaria, maybe that's why CVS subbed in the Doxycycline. (If not, then I got nothin'.)
Good grief, David. Sending love to Matilda, Mia and everyone. That script needs a fuck ton of work, yes. Jesus.

Vortex, I found this: [link]
It is reassuring, but I don't know how much credence to give it.
I recommend having the doctor give his opinion regarding the substitution.
Hugs to Matilda, and all of you.

DH goes through this with the county to try and get paid for coaching. It never seems to happen. He had to get his high school transcript since apparently his university one wasn't enough. He did all that and the fingerprints and background. We expect they never will actually pay him anything. This doesn't keep him from coaching and coming way out of pocket, but it would be nice if they did something to help.
We are all dragging ass this morning.
And JZ and I fly down to LA tomorrow, where we get the important CT scan.
