Faith: A kid. Angel's got a kid. Wesley: Connor. Faith: A teenage kid born last year. Wesley: I told you, he grew up in a hell dimension. Faith: Right. And what, Cordelia spent her last summer as… Wesley: A divine being. Faith: Uh-huh. Can I just ask--What the hell are you people doing?

Right? I replied "I feel personally attacked," and one of my roommates said, "This feels like age discrimination."

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

There’s a guy here at the bar with a man-bun, a pencil mustache, several gold chains, and an ascot. I don’t know what to make of it.
The biggest weirdo in your bar had better watch his back. When you come at the king…

Now tagless for your comfort.

Emmett is deeply into Rothfuss right now.

He lives in my town. You know he's never going to finish that series.

I read David Morrell's Murder as a Fine Art (Thomas de Quincey mysteries). And now I have to read Confessions of an English Opium Eater. I'm headed down the historical murder mysteries rabbit hole.

After waiting FOUR FUCKING MONTHS for an appointment with a pediatric endocrinologist who can prescribe Oliver's testosterone, and after jumping through the therapy, letter and paperwork hoops, the doctor cancels THIS MORNING. Less than 3 hours before the appointment. No idea when another one can be scheduled.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Ugh on the cancellation, Cashmere. How awful!

Trying to remember why Murder as a Fine Art floated into my consciousness recently. It's ringing a bell but not bringing up any attached information...

Always Anti-fascist!

I know everyone on Earth is more organized than I am(with the possible exception of my new attendant and her family, which might be a separate rant sometime, but not right now) but i could really do without being part of formal meetings with agendas and dots like the commander likes, especially I don't know why "Introductions' and "adjournment" are always included like those are mysterious parts.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

You know he's never going to finish that series.

This was actually a source of much discussion at Borderlands (SF/Fantasy/Horror/Mystery) bookstore. Certain staff won't rec Rothfuss because they believe he won't finish the series, and others will say the published work is too good to miss.

It's funny how people will get stalled by the fear of failure, or I guess more accurately, the pressure of early success.

George R. R. Martin being the most infamous example, but in rock history it happened with the Stone Roses and The Las. Perfect first albums created unbearable expectations about their next work and so...they just flailed and fell apart.

Here's where I think Prince was genius to follow up Purple Rain with Around the World In A Day. It was a total left field move to use his newfound leverage to do a psychedelic influenced album. It did have two huge singles in "Raspberry Beret" and "Pop Life."

And he followed it up with Parade which (people forget) was the soundtrack to Under the Cherry Moon (a spectacular flop), and nobody cares because "Kiss."

I just got an email with the subject line “Your shipment is on its way!” But I didn’t remember ordering anything. Turns out back in February I ordered a t-shirt for the Bluegrass Pugfest in Louisville, Kentucky, which is in a couple of weeks. There’s a receipt from February in my email and everything. (Just for the t-shirt, not to actually go to Pugfest.) I hope it's a cute t-shirt.

Thrive to spite them

Semi surprise pug t shirts are way better than scams.

I keep getting texts about my Amazon account.

Yesterday i went and hung out with Crafty Friend and we didn't end up crafting just hanging out and chatting and going to lunch. She was kind of stressed about some things and so we just ended up talking. Unfortunately because of our schedules and the distance from out houses we can't get together too often. I'm going to suggest maybe meeting for a late lunch one day.

The craft thrift store we met at is temporarily closing to move to a new location but they might lose the new location and so it may take longer to reopen.

I did walk away from yesterday with about 2 dozen Prismacolor pencils her son didn't want anymore and she was going to donate. And she has 2 friends who are clearing out their craft/scrapbook stuff and giving it to her to take what she wants and then donate but she said she'd let me have a crack at anything she doesn't want.

I kind of felt bad about taking stuff , don't know why, I guess because I don't have stuff to give or trade with her. But i know she has a lot of anxiety about driving and so I may suggest one day we go hit up some stores or places she'd like to go to but is out side her safe driving zone.

Oh I also mentioned fanfic assuming she had some familiarity with it and she didn't. So...that was kind of an interesting conversation. Especially since it was at the end of the visit when her husband got home and we were winding down. She seemed shocked at the idea of Kirk/Spock and the TV shows and movies she likes than generate fannish content are outside my interest....im sending her some leverage fanfic. I'm not she how she would feel about the OT3 ...so this is the first time I've introduced someone to fanfic.
