Willow: Something evil-crashed to earth in this. Then it broke out and slithered away to do badness. Giles: Well, in all fairness, we don't really know about the "slithered" part. Anya: No, no, I'm sure it frisked about like a fluffy lamb.

It's occasionally difficult for me to listen to my body when I have a lot of stress and anxiety going on. I vaguely noticed on Thursday that it felt like it was taking more effort to take a walk than I thought it should, but y'know, fucking coup attempt. I took Friday off because I'm trying to use up vacation days before I hit the upper limit of hours I can accrue, and a bunch of packages finally arrived. As I was grabbing them while they were being delivered and then running the cardboard down to recycling while there was space in the recycling bins, I was all, "WHY IS THIS SO HARD?!" So I spent a little time being mean to myself for being so out of shape before it occurred to me to take my temperature. It was just over 100, so I sat quietly for a bit in case it was high from going up and down the stairs and hauling boxes, but then it went up to 101.6. I took acetaminophen and spent the rest of the day taking it very easy while panicking about possibly having Covid-19, because I had two other symptoms on the laundry list (none of which were unique to Covid-19).

Today, I'm taking my temperature every few hours and my body temperature has been low, and the other symptoms are gone. Even though I feel vaguely ridiculous about it, I'm going to quarantine and get tested for Covid-19 on Wednesday morning, which is the earliest available day near me for an appointment.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

I'm glad you're feeling better. You should definitely not have covid, if you want my opinion. I'm against it.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

The distinction between deluded and fascist is mattering less and less.

Hard same.

In other news, one of the packages I received contained a KitchenAid stand mixer, so now I want all the recipes.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Another fine day here. Nova was meowing in the middle of the night for no apparent reason. Mr. S woke up at 7 and has had a couple of meltdowns today.(One was because he wanted to stay with Daddy, who was going to go to the supermarket. Ended up going after lunch so he could take Mr. S out to run around a bit.)

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

I made this bread yesterday, and it's pretty good. [link]

I don't think I let it rise quite long enough ("UNDER-PROOFED" bellows the Paul Hollywood in my head), so it came out a little small, but the pecans are good.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Play it safe and take care of yourself, shrift. Hooray stand mixer! Serious Eats has a “so you just got a stand mixer” collection that might be fun to check out

move out and draw fire

Getting tested is good, and not having it is better.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I hope you don't have covid, shrift, and remain furious that anyone should get any kind of sickness in these times!

If I had a mixer, I'd make bagels first thing.

Dana and -t, thanks for the suggestions! I have made pizza dough first thing, and it's rising now. I think bread is next, but maybe I'll attempt bagels after I put in a Penzeys order.

My temperature started to creep up again, so I'm feeling less ridiculous about my quarantine and test plan.
