Went to a cool concert last night -- ice instruments!
Very cool!
Enjoy your Florida time, askye.
We are looking at more rain today and tomorrow. Also, they are warning of a big mosquito issue in a couple of days after the flooding. I'm okay here because we have so much wind next to the beach, but it is going to be torture for the homeless population on the city streets. I hope they are taking advantage of the Red Cross shelters that were set up for the people whose homes were wrecked. Mostly they are in the Rec center, which is a normal hurricane shelter, in the large city park where I take Skinner. One of the displaced people wandered over to play with the dogs.
Ice instruments! How cool.
Enjoy your beachiness, Askye.
We're packing up our hotel room, and headed back to the hospital by 10am. JZ will get saline and have the pump removed and then we'll hi-de-ho to the airport for our 4pm flight. [knock wood]
There's been a lot more throwing up on the current regimen so we're learning to finesse that.
It was nice to take the walk out to the dog park yesterday. JZ's mostly been sleeping and in bed on this trip, but that was a good outing on a bright day.
I'm hoping things get a little easier with the travel and treatment as we go in. As we learn to handle these symptoms, and after we get our TSA precheck and now that we know the neighborhood a bit, and where everything is at the hotel.
Happy Birthday ND!
This weekend I have gotten my yard cleared out by a lawn service (who knew there was grass under all the leaves and gumballs?), picked up groceries and prescriptions, swept floors, assembled a small bathroom cabinet to store bath tissue rolls, and finished washing the last box of dishes that had remained packed from the move. About to head out to drop off recycling and visit/feed the alleycats. Then all that's left is to assemble my new TV stand that arrived this morning and clean out the litter boxes.
Happy birthday, Drew! May this year be a bit less interesting with house adventures and kind in family.
Happy birthday, ND!
This has been a weekend of reorganizing, passing stuff along, and putting new stuff together. My hands hurt and my apartment is a disaster. But things should be back to a reduced level of chaos later this week.
We're home. Everything went relatively smoothly and yet we're still both exhausted because this is hard.
It is hard! Be kind to yourselves!
I went for a nice hike on the peninsula this morning, got the chance to carpool with an old friend I haven't seen in a while, did some yard work (i.e., pulled weeds), and was jazzed to see that my lime tree has lots of blossoms on it! Maybe this will be the year I get limes!
Now I'm roasting a bunch of veggies before going to my sister's house to watch Ted Lasso. Tomorrow is work again, sigh.
Happy birthday, ND!
