So happy to hear Epic's surgery went well! Thank you, msbelle, for the updates. I will be crossing fingers and toes for a good outcome.
David, glad you all have a recovery day. Sorry about the ridiculous cocktail costs; that's ridiculous even by LA standards, but I guess what happens in a posh corner of Beverly Hills. I'm glad the hotel is nice and close to the hospital, at least. So sad to hear about the domestic violence next door.
I am wide awake for no good reason. Just popped awake a little after 4 and have been doing crossword puzzles and such. For those not on FB, I'm a week past the ACL surgery and recovering well, but this brace is really challenging. It doesn't really fit and slips down my leg, and I have to stuff socks in it to sleep at this point because my knee is so bruised. Seriously, compared to what others are facing, it's a minor inconvenience, but I'll be really glad when I can take it off in 5 weeks.
Glad to hear all went well, msbelle -- thanks for the updates.
Oh, that's awful about your hotel neighbors, David.
Wishing you both as restful a day as possible.
Yeah, may it be a peaceful one for JZ to regain some strength.
21 mph winds disagree with my plan to plant seeds this morning, so change of schedule to tomorrow when it should be much calmer and everything won't blow away before I can pack the earth down.
Recovery~ma for JZ and Epic.
Today is the first time since my surgery I'm going to do my full Saturday morning errands set--library, altar guild setup for tomorrow's church service, farmers market, quick grocery store run (we've finally found a meal kit service all three of us like, which cuts down nicely on meal planning and shopping time), possibly the birding specialty store if I'm still feeling energetic, and then pick up McDs for the family on the way home.
When it's actually written out like that, I realize it's a lot of stuff. No wonder after lunch I'm always ready to crash for a bit.
I’m at a dance convention (in my town) this weekend, so am already not looking forward to how exhausted I’ll be Monday. But it’s so fun to see people.
Glad the trial is working out though im gobsmacked at the prices of those cocktails!!
Pix, I had to get some sleeping pills when I had to sleep with a brace after my ankle—it was fine during the day but elevating and bracing was too hard to sleep through all night, even though there was no pain.
Recovery~ma for Epic and JZ. May today include much rest and recuperation.

That doesn't sound like something you want to deal with for weeks. Can you get the brace exchanged or refitted somehow?
Epic is out of surgery. All went well. We’ll know more tomorrow.
Great news!

I have a post-op appointment on the 5th. Part of the issue is probably that they would prefer I attach it directly to my skin, not the loose pajama pants I've been wearing, but that just isn't comfortable with all the bruising on my knee. Today, I switched to bracing over tighter fitting exercise pants, and that seems to be working better. I also PUT ON SNEAKERS (slip-ons) for the first time since the 23rd. Can't drive for at least another week, but I may try navigating our treacherous driveway so Drew can drive and treat my mom to dinner tonight as a thank you before she leaves tomorrow. I haven't left the house since the surgery, so that will be a big step.
My dad's cognition is slipping again, which is why Drew went out to FL for a few days (he's flying back today). Dad had been doing so well on his new meds up until January, so I'd been really hopeful that would last a bit longer. When he had his GI setback, we all hoped the cognition would return to normal once that was resolved, but, sadly, it seems not. I'll call his neurologist next week to figure out a time when Dad can go back for a check-up and to see if he can make any adjustments to his meds.
Oh, I am sorry to hear that your dad is slipping. The GI stuff no doubt took quite a toll. I hope you can get into the neuro quickly and that he has a good plan. I'm sure you will be happy the have Drew back. Enjoy the big excursion tonight. Don't overdo it!!
