could it be a "work spouse" situaton where it's not romantic but they're on the same wavelength when it comes to work?
Natter 77: I miss my friends. I miss my enemies. I miss the people I talked to every day.
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
Oh my, flea. Whether y'all are background characters in a rom com or potential witnesses to a lawsuit or just up to your neck in gossip that sounds really uncomfortable!
I don’t feel safe speaking to either of them, and the people I could speak to to convey the message on (director and HR person) also do not feel safe.
I doubt they’re dating; I think they’ve trauma bonded and are new besties. But even that is a problem because 1) he’s her boss 2) she’s having trouble establishing her authority with her department 3) the vibes and optics are just so bad. I’ve had work besties but I tell you what I never ate off the same plate with them at lunch.
Ick, flea. I hope it is just work coziness. I know that the comfort level of co-workers can look like more than it is. I really hope that is the case.

Oh, he's her boss and your boss? I totally misread that before. Oh no. I'm really sorry there isn't anyone for you to go to, that's awful.
Flea that is a weird vibe. I feel like this is a Ask A Manager post where everyone wants an update. I hope for your sake that one of them comes to their senses and stops before it becomes a major thing.
As I was leaving today M was like "have fun on your playdate," .. but I did have fun. My crafty friend (whose name also starts with a M) has sooo much crafting stuff. Seriously I think she has as much stuff as the recraft store. We struggled to figure out one technique but had fun. Hit some thrift stores. Had lunch, and she jad several boxes of stuff to donate so she let me pull what I wanted.
And she plays DnD. Her husband was DMing but they lost their group. So they are thinking of starting up again.
Wait, the director and HR don't feel safe speaking to them?? That is some BS. What if it was actually a harassment situation or something? Good grief.
Very cool, askye!
No, I don’t feel safe going to the director or HR. I mean possibly I have trust issues, but I don’t know the HR person and I don’t trust the director.
