"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Are you signed up for the relevant airline/hotel/transportation rewards programs?

I'm looking at Delta Skymiles right now!

Noted!

Thank you expert travelers.

Thrive to spite them

That is a lot of travelling to do, I hope it all goes as smoothly as possible.

Today was a pretty good day- work went really well over all. And then at the Recraft thrift store I go to all the time, one of the volunteers and I have been chatting about various things we do, she has a gelli plate but has been scared to use it and I've been encouraging her so.....tomorrow I'm going over to her house for some crafting fun.

This is literally the first time in years I've done something with a friend and not a romantic partner or family member. It's been a long time. Which kind of feels sad and pathetic when I think about it but on the other hand-- progress! for me! growth and stuff....oddly I don't feel anxious, that will probably hit tomrrow.

That's wonderful! She'll appreciate your showing her how to do the gelli plate. I'm so glad.

If I want to become a cloud of bats, does each bat need a separate vaccination?

any tips on how to word accomplishments as a project-manager sort of person to both (a) show I did something but (b) not make it sound like I did all the work—sometimes I directed others to do it and other times worked as part of a team. Some things I can claim—like oh, I looked at this issue or these results and realized we needed to do XYZ and then had the team do it, sure. But a lot of other times when trying to think of examples of things I’ve done I end up saying we we we we.

If this is for a resume/interview, my advice is take all the credit you can (without being dishonest).

Bali! Wow! (I am going to London next week which I am pretty thrilled about, but I have a feeling you’ll be getting better vacation weather than I will.)

Holy shit, Suela, your license plate?

But people stealing license plates is one of those things I have only ever read about in fiction and hadn't experienced in real life even as an anecdote so sort of an achievement unlocked kind of thing

Same!

Stabile-meds-ma to the Zmayhems. You guys deserve all the first class everything.

I had a job interview Friday (my first since getting time-delayed laid off) and last night I woke up at 4am with an anxiety dream where the recruiter got back to me to say I didn't get the role AND made a point of specifically telling me how terrible and unqualified all the interviewers thought I was. Thanks brain! It was super easy getting back to sleep after that!

David .thanks. I'm really excited. Plus she has die cutting things so I'm going to have her show me all about that. Maybe not today. But at some point. I'm not getting a die cut machine. I am not any time soon because I gave too many started projects and I need to finish them and do more with what I have before I add something else.

Jessica I hate that your brain went to terrible places. You are awesome .

I've never heard of a license plate being atolen in real life either. Although I hadn't experienced a car being abandoned on a public street for weeks on end and that has happened. There has been a mini van in one of the parking spaces across from our place for...3 weeks maybe ? Cops have been notified but nothing came of it. So guess it isn't stolen.

Interview~ma Jess.

Thank you expert travelers.

No expert here, but I know it will make things much smoother when you get all the logistics settled.

Brendon is applying for the Varsity head coach position where he is currently JV coach. (He'll probably get it) This is good and bad. Good because it is his love in life (after me), and I know how important it is to mentor these kids and get them into good universities. Bad because it is going to be a lot more time and his focus is nonexistent already. Seriously, he has zero focus or time management skills. I'm working on it with him. Balancing home/health/work/sports is a challenge for anyone, but being ADHD adds to that challenge.

Good luck Jessica! That is very rude of your brain, but mine would probably do the same.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

Just trying to find ways to make the travel less onerous.

You may already be doing this of course… but every airline has an ADA line and it’s their whole job to do that. They’ll set up the wheel chair escort through security, boarding, move seats, whatever. If mom is traveling alone, gets to the airport and the chair isn’t there she calls them and it pretty quickly is.

Also, if you decide to travel with an assistance device that checks free. Mom and I used this one on the trip we just took and it was gangbusters - it converts from a rollator to a transport chair in about two seconds. In everyday life she uses a cane, but her being able to sit down and have me push while traveling bought us a lot of flexibility. [link]

Thanks! Maria encouraged me to take advantage of pre-boarding which would probably be enough. JZ doesn't need a wheelchair.
