I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

The tattoo place I took my mom to for her extra ear piercings was great, highly recommend that approach. Mom was a little dubious before we went, but they were super nice

My 9 am meeting got canceled which was a relief and I checked my email early in hopes that it would be so I didn't start early (not that 9 am is an early start, but I have a standing 11am meeting that typically takes me all morning to prepare for so I would have needed extra time if I was in another meeting before it). It got cancelled because a coworker has COVID, which is a bummer, but I was still relieved to not have to start work early.

not that 9 am is an early start,

YES IT IS!!! Normalize other cicadian cycles and allow late starts and late finishes. This concept that "early" means productive is a fallacy and counterproductive for night owls.

Ha, I meant not early for me, my normal day starts at 8:30 am. Just trying to clarify that the meeting wasn't scheduled outside my normal working hours but it would have required my usual work to be done earlier. But it was cancelled, so none of that had to happen!

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Another Monday. Well, Spring is approaching, the no-longer surprise hyacinths are blooming, as are the cherry blossoms.

Thanks for that, Consuela! It joins “is the mountain out” as important yes/no questions to answer.

I could not get my shit together today—even though I thought I slept fine I was a wreck all day, yawning and unable to focus. Got lots to do tomorrow and starting early, so hoping I can get over that!! Wondering if it’s a side effect of the new drugs or possibly my body saying “eat more food dumb dumb”

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

My mental checklist today:

Pharma (pick up meds)
Piggies (they need kibble, also cage cleaning)
Mail (need to send something out Priority)
Surgery
Laundry
Dishes

At 3pm I have to get "clean margins" on the spot where the dermatologist cut out the melanoma on my shoulder. Whee!

I have grown older, but not up.

Consider doing the chores which require shoulder movement *before* getting surgery on your shoulder.

It doesn't impede my movement, but it does make carrying a backpack tricky.
