I love my Saturday mornings these days... Matt goes to a class, so I have several hours to myself to just faff about. I mean, today, I had to do some work, but there was still a lot of faffing.

Love the dude, but love my time alone, too.

Might go to the pool this afternoon.

Yep, a lovely day here, too.

Timelies all!

As usual, getting routine maintenance done on the car turned up other things that needed to be taken care of. I had them do the most urgent things, as doing all the things would have been more than I wanted to spend.

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

I got in a brisk 8 mile walk in the redwoods this morning. Lots of other folks at the park, lots of muddy dogs! It was nice.

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

Now would be a good time to know who our accomplices are in the event that our marginalized buffistas need to relocate.

We went to a Celebration of Life for our friend who died in January. Plenty of music, as she was a musician. Nice to see how many people attended, both in person, and on Zoom.

My niece's 18th birthday is this week. It snuck up on me (denial?) I was thinking of getting her a gift card, but how much is appropriate these days? I remember getting a $100 gift card for graduating from high school (RIP Britches), so presumably more than that? I suppose I could ask her parents too, but I think that they'll lowball out of politeness.

more than $100 seems like way too much to me but I am not a parent

Our wings are not tired.

I love a nice round number for gifts and think $100 is a generous (and appropriate) amount for the gift.

Our wings are not tired.

Agree with the above as $100 is a nice round generous number.

Why Monday? Oh well, I did actually have a weekend for a change so I'll deal.

My big plan for today is to go get my ears re-pierced. I let them close up by being lazy about wearing earrings but miss them. I am just a chicken, but have to remind myself that I have done it before. My first set I did myself when I was around 12.

Go Laura! I have let several ear piercings grow in (I used to have many in each ear and now only have 1) and it’s a little sad to me. But not sad enough that I’m doing anything about it.

Also sad: it’s Monday and I’m exhausted and I got up for a 730am call that was then canceled.
