I love bowling league where people don't take it too seriously and get all competitive. No pressure fun.
The boss is aware and understanding.
I do hope that less stressful days are in the near future.
And since this is my GP I also talked about my blood pressure for my last appointments which have been high.
I've had luck with doing things like avoiding driving on the highway and listening to nice calming music and/or binaural beats while working. Sleep is super important.
Drove down the length of Fort Lauderdale beach last night and I can report Spring Break is in full swing. So many string thong bikinis and scantily clad pink-all-over young men and women. Seriously children, your Michigan skin isn't ready for this. This morning A1A was closed for a big AIDS walk and apparently there is some big concert thing later tonight. I may walk down. All the activity makes me alter my routes, but generally I enjoy watching the families and college students having fun.
Also, happy anniversary to me. 33 years. My SIL gave me pretty green nails with shamrocks on them. Pretty much relaxing all weekend. Going to see Moving On tonight which looks good.
eta: yes, I am making corned beef and cabbage today. Corned beef already in the slow cooker.
A house across the street is having their roof replaced. It is a VERY loud process and I wish it would stop.
I got irrationally annoyed at the woman who tried to honk me out of the way when I was picking up groceries at the curb. Yes, I was sitting there for a few seconds looking at a work text after the trunk was closed. There was NO ONE behind me OR her (or in front - I was literally the only one there). Honked two times.
She literally just had to back up to adjust the angle SHE used to approach the curb. What the everloving fuck. I'm not proud, but I rolled down my window and when she threw up her arms, I flipped her off. Again, not proud.
It's good I'm starting therapy, I think.
Flipping her off seems wholly appropriate to me.
Thank you, Laura. Not even kidding, I appreciate the external validation!
Beeping other than when about to be hit by another vehicle seems wrong to me. Maybe if hanging at a green light arrow too long, because they don't last forever. Otherwise, just rude.
I am still kind of mad at the person who honked at me at a gas station when I did not immediately pull away from the pump (I was noting my odometer reading before driving away because I feel like I need to keep those records even though I don't actually ever look at them later for any reason). This was before Covid, so, years ago.
Consider my response to the lady from this morning retroactive to that person, too, on your behalf.
Laura -- so totally agreed. And there are ways to "gently" honk, too, for the green arrow sitch, say.
I'm not going to try a drastic change to my diet because I don't think I could handle that living with 2 people who make sure there are snacks all the time and who cook more on the heavy side. Instead my first goal is going to increase veggies and fruits and try to cook more so I have more control over dinner.
As someone who also is working on similar health concerns, your plans sound reasonable, achievable, and repeatable. It's super hard to work on diet stuff when you're living with other people who are particular and don't want to change their habits.

I honestly think the pandemic has made people more wildly impatient and unable to regulate their emotions. I, uh, yelled a little at a woman who started honking INCESSANTLY when the car in front of her was waiting while I was actively using the crosswalk yesterday. Like, lady, I know you have somewhere to be but please stop advocating for pedestrian murder.
