Natter 77: I miss my friends. I miss my enemies. I miss the people I talked to every day.
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
The boss is aware and understanding. She has her faults, but she really does get that we are all suffering from chaos being foisted on us (not all by her, mind you) from the sr leadership.
We have new staff starting in several areas and more offers going out this week, plus several interviews going on, so we are hoping that more hands will lessen the stress.
I hope the potential lessened stress is actualized, msbelle!
Msbelle hope that things go smoothly at work soon.
And lots of healing ~ma to everyone who needs it. Especially JZ.
I had my 3 month vyvanse follow up, where I show up and go I'm still doing well with this, please let me call you for 3 more months to get prescriptions filled. . I did talk to him about my anxiety which has been a small obstacle on some days (and some a bigger one) since I quit duloxetine. So we talked about trying a very low dose of Lexapro, which has the same excessive sweating side effect of duloxetine but at this dose it's a 3% chance so I'm going to try it. And since this is my GP I also talked about my blood pressure for my last appointments which have been high.
Granted I've been in pain from the ear infection and I also get turned around and drive in circles trying to find his stupid office in the medical park maze . And where I went for the colonoscopy pre appointment was just as bad. But when my BP was retaken it only went down some. My dr said it's borderline what he would start prescribing medication but he doesn't want to do that now and that high blood pressure is definitely something to watch for being on stimulant. and my blood sugar was borderline. So he had them do a A1C finger stick blood test thing and I'm going to monitor my blood pressure at home and make a serious effort to change my eating habits and then in 3 months we will see what is going on. Unless my A1C levels need to be addressed.
I'm not going to try a drastic change to my diet because I don't think I could handle that living with 2 people who make sure there are snacks all the time and who cook more on the heavy side. Instead my first goal is going to increase veggies and fruits and try to cook more so I have more control over dinner.
My PCP wanted to keep a close eye on my blood pressure when it was borderline and I was taking stimulants and it kept being borderline for months, maybe years, but eventually tipped over to where she wanted to prescribe something for it. Nobody ever suggested any lifestyle changes for me at any point, which surprised me. They had a little questionnaire I filled out every time I went to get checked but I guess there were no red flags in my answers. I still forget to take it fairly often, but I think when I do remember to take it regularly I feel better - less tired? Anyway, good luck with the Lexapro and everything. Taking a little more control of what you eat for dinner seems like it might be nice for you just in a general way - meals being kind of fraught in your house.
-t My Dr didn't want to add 2 medications at once and since my BP wasn't quite at the threshold he decided to wait.
I was able to go online and look at the A1C test result, it's on the high side of normal so--try to eat better, drink more water, try to sleep better and hopefully that will help. What should also help is if I can get my work hours increased in April, which will mean more walking...which is more exercise and hopefully drop some weight/gain some muscle which should help.
Timelies all!
I still need to find a new primary care physician. I know there is an online directory of providers who take my insurance, but it just seems so daunting to go through it.
That is one thing I somewhat perversely like about Kaiser, they will just assign me someone.
I went to bowling league tonight for the first time….it’s gay bowling so our top scorer was like 120 and only one other person broke 100. I got two gutter balls to start but eventually did a little better, though still v inconsistent. Will be glad most of our games start at 630 rather than 8 though—I’m tired!
I love bowling league where people don't take it too seriously and get all competitive. No pressure fun.
The boss is aware and understanding.
I do hope that less stressful days are in the near future.
And since this is my GP I also talked about my blood pressure for my last appointments which have been high.
I've had luck with doing things like avoiding driving on the highway and listening to nice calming music and/or binaural beats while working. Sleep is super important.
Drove down the length of Fort Lauderdale beach last night and I can report Spring Break is in full swing. So many string thong bikinis and scantily clad pink-all-over young men and women. Seriously children, your Michigan skin isn't ready for this. This morning A1A was closed for a big AIDS walk and apparently there is some big concert thing later tonight. I may walk down. All the activity makes me alter my routes, but generally I enjoy watching the families and college students having fun.
Also, happy anniversary to me. 33 years. My SIL gave me pretty green nails with shamrocks on them. Pretty much relaxing all weekend. Going to see Moving On tonight which looks good.
eta: yes, I am making corned beef and cabbage today. Corned beef already in the slow cooker.
A house across the street is having their roof replaced. It is a VERY loud process and I wish it would stop.
