Our wings are not tired.

I am personally chuffed to see the FDIC saving the day. Bank regulations ahoy!

And the officers taking big bonuses just before closing the doors.

Usual Mondayness here today. Had a nice relaxing weekend though. Went to the beach for a couple hours. Then a cousin from Nebraska called out of the blue asking if we were around for dinner so we grilled swordfish over in the condo beach club and had a yummy dinner with asparagus, guacamole, and sliced tomatoes. I know I did relaxing stuff Saturday too, but damned if I can remember what I was doing 2 days ago, as per usual.

Today Skinner is 5 years old! Still acts like a puppy.

Time change still sucks.

Yay for tiny raise as opposed to lay off?

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

For me personally, yes! People I like got laid off, though, which is always a bummer. And also seem like weird choices for the business, but they do not pay me the big bucks to make those decisions, obviously

Layoffs suck t, but glad it wasn’t you!

I feel like some laws should be like juries. Grab a few people from the street and be like “does this seem legit?” Big bonuses before firing everyone or making the government bail you out? No. Give it back.

I joined a clinical trial to test a new GLP1 agonist, and I’m feeling pretty sure I got the real thing rather than placebo—first dose was Friday and Saturday I had a migraine (never want to eat then), but yesterday I ate a regular breakfast (around 10) and around 7pm was like “yeah, I guess I should eat”. Today I couldn’t even finish my usual PB&J. Wow. I think if I could just cut random not-hungry snacking out (like the half bag of marshmallows I ate late at night last week) I’d be doing well. So fingers crossed it works and doesn’t have awful side effects!!!

Nice, meara! Evening is the worst for me. I get up so early that I tend to have dinner early, but I think I am better off eating around 7-8 PM so I am less likely to snack later. Rarely do I choose something super healthy to eat after 8 PM.

It must be weird to be part of a medical study when you know so much about them from the other side, meara Eta: kinda picturing that scene from Brain Candy "I have the sugar pills, don't I?" but in reverse

Yeah, I feel like a lot of my bad habits are just snacking due to cravings or boredom and not so much voracious hunger…but I never do that on migraine days (even after meds take it away) because food just doesn’t appeal. Many years ago I lost quite a bit of weight just from having migraines multiple times a week. This would be a much better method! And since it’s a clinical trial it’s free (if anyone is interested you can Google clinical trials in your area or look on clinicaltrials.gov for whatever you want (by drug name or by what they’re testing it for)

meara - Mar 13, 2023 10:28:41 am PDT #21119 of 30000

Oh it’s super weird!! Like they asked “have you ever had an EKG” and I said no, and they started to explain what it was to me—I was like yeah, I know that just haven’t had one myself!! But it does make me want to read the protocol, but I’m sure they wouldn’t let me. Also understood when they were like “sorry, can’t do a late appointment Friday because there’s blood draws” that some blood has to ship out that day, and wouldn’t ship Saturday, so they have to do it before the last pickup of the day…

The more I learn, the more I realize how little I know.

I joined a clinical trial

Excellent!

clinicaltrials.gov

Yep. Lots of info to be found there.

I am enrolled in the CHAARTED2 clinical trial: [link]

Cool, Daniel! I had sent the link to my sister and she somehow ended up in a completely different study (I guess they were doing a few). I’m excited to be getting this stuff but also not making it harder for actual diabetics to get their meds (since this is investigational it’s a whole other supply)

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

We went to a concert last night.(James Keelaghan, a Canadian songwriter we've seen a number of times) We enjoyed it.
