Shrift I have been there before, wondering if I’m the crazy one but no.

Feeling good that my first available colonoscopy appointment was 3pm on Monday July 31.
The July part of that is actually great--mine have all been in January or February, and one time I was worried I'd have to reschedule after I'd already started prep hell the night before because of snow, but fortunately a friend and neighbor with AWD was a complete hero and was willing to be my chauffeur.
shrift, there was once an ad where a guy insisted that Phoenix should be pronounce pa-hoe-nix
I learned how to pronounce desultory last week. I’ve been saying it out loud for 40 years. Ha!
My aunt thought "misled" was pronounced "myz'-zld" and it was very hard to convince her otherwise.
One of our friends told us how his kid pronounced "debris" as "DEB-riss," and now that's forever how I hear it in my head when I read it. And if I ever say "debris" out loud, I have to pause for a fraction of a second to make sure I pronounce it correctly.
The problem comes when you get used to pronouncing words in a joke way, and then you start to forget that they're wrong. I say "Supposably" and "it fucken wimdy" a lot.
Ha! The good thing about "it fucken wimdy" is that you can show the meme to people when you say it in front of them, and they instantly get it. (And then they often start saying it themselves, like Tim's co-workers. Slow propagation of memes: successful!)
When Alex was really little he called German shepherd dogs Grrr-man shepherds, which I loved almost as much as his toddler pronunciation of flowers as flowflers.
For a long time I thought "awry" was pronounced aw-ree, and that there was this totally separate word out there that I assumed was spelled "arigh."

Ha, that’s me with facade. Definitely thought it meant different things if you pronounced as fake aid versus fussad.
