Did not end up watching the super bowl at all, not even half time. Just couldn't be bothered.
We always go to my mom and stepdad's for the Super Bowl, even though I never care about who's playing (unless it's the Bengals, which is vanishingly rare, last year notwithstanding). It's pretty much an excuse to eat chili and various snacks. I brought brownies and my aunt brought cheesecake, and so we all discovered that cheesecake on a brownie is REALLY good.
Ooh. I have seen things labeled Cheesecake Brownies although I don't know what that means in a practical sense. I was thinking about watching with my folks but they weren't sure if they were going to bother either and I was kind of surprised by how late in the day it starts. I get used to football being a morning/mid-day thing all season with evening games being a sort of rarity, I couldn't adjust (even after barely watching at all during the season)
I used to throw a Super Bowl party but didn’t even consider it this year. Which I was sad about but maybe next year?

Yes -- when we first started SuperBowling, probably two decades ago, we'd start our bowling games when the Superbowl started, but this year (2019 was the last year I did it; they did do a 2020, but I was in the hospital) -- I was like, uh, start bowling at 6p on a Sunday and THEN go out for dinner? What am I, under 40 or something? No thanks.
So we started at 3p-ish, bowled two games, and were sitting down to dinner by 5:30p. Much more civilized. (We also used to bowl three games. Not anymore!)

Oh, -t, my mother's trip was this weekend and she didn't end up taking the train after all (her host insisted on a million-dollar Uber!).
I am home sick from work, with what is turning out to be a run-of-the-mill cold, but I don't know how to handle it In These Times. I guess I could be working from home, but since I usually don't, I don't have all my stuff, but going into the office seems rude somehow?

Jesse I’d say if it’s just today then be sick, but if you feel like it’ll be going on for a few days maybe you can pop in very early or late to grab your work stuff?
Yeah, I'll take today as a sick day, and we'll see about tomorrow.....
