Aren't they something. They're like butterflies, or little pieces of wrapping paper blowing around.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Perimenopause is the worst. Mostly because my pms days have become totally unpredictable.

Concur: perimenopause was awful. At one point, not to be too graphic, but I thought I was hemorrhaging onto my office chair.

The shit they do NOT tell us about our own aging bodies is legion.

So yeah it's nice to be on the other side of that. I still get some hot flashes, especially if I'm drinking. So not drinking much for the last six weeks has been great for my sleep. I should keep it up.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

I have no idea where I stand wrt menopause, peri or otherwise. How do you even know? My periods are very heavy due to fibroids but I wasn’t a candidate for non-emergency surgery because of blood clot risk. My temperature regulation has been shitty for ages, and I went through a period of awful night sweats 15 or so years ago.

Not missing any periods, that’s for damn sure. Beyond ready.

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe

I believe it's considered official menopause when you haven't had a period for 12 months. I'm almost 52 and still getting them pretty damn regularly. I don't care for that shit at all.

Our wings are not tired.

I was pretty darn pleased to be done with it at 47. I really didn't have much difficulty. Some hot flashes but not for long.

You've got friends to have good times with. When you need to share the trauma of a badly-written book with someone, that's when you go to family.

I was the first woman in three generations of my maternal line to have a non-surgical menopause, so there was no one to ask "What's this like?" It was - not fun. But it is done!

Tanqueray also makes a NA gin.

Off to the airport in an hour to fetch Jim home, yay! Ken is feeling very well today; I have involved my brother the auto insurance claims readjuster to advise him, and we will likely drive up to Ken's on Sunday to eat snacks, watch the Puppy Bowl and the WWDITS episode "Brain Scramblies".

There is actually a blood test you can take that will confirm if you are officially in menopause. Follicle stimulating hormone, I believe.

Took my first run in the woods since the holidays! Lots of downed trees and washouts. And I was hella slow, but it was very nice.

Now I'ma go look for shoes I think.

If you've always had regular periods and then they become wonky (lasting a long time, being longer apart and then suddenly shorter apart etc) that's considered peri

ltc's STAR assessment, which I think is some sort of verbal standardized test for the younger kids, results came in today, and she is in the 98th percentile in Reading and Language skills, which I guess shouldn't be surprising since she has a book in front of her face nearly all the time these days, usually a graphic novel.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

Yay, ltg!

Mine went from wonky to 28 days consistent as heck. Also they got super heavy.

I have the implant currently. I'd skipped two periods (not sequentially) and both times I was in pregnant scare mode. So non-hormonal birth control went off the table. Hopefully when we remove the implant in four years, I'll actually be in menopause.
