I survived a week with my parents (with much thanks to my sister, without whom I never would have made it). Am now at the airport rather early, killing time before a very short flight followed by a very long one.
We bought my mother a small chest freezer and my sister made stew and pot pies and meatloaf to fill it, and I bought steaks for my dad (by request) and froze balls of cookie dough. And spent many many hours scanning old photos. Went through most of my moms but just got the photos and didn’t do anything yet with dads side of the family. Have hopes his sisters will be able to name who is in the photos—my mom has some early 1900s photos of family in Denmark…and no idea who they are.
I was going to go to an event but I am still not feeling great. Besides still having fluid in my ears and feeling yucky from all of that my period started so I have cramps. My body hates me. Or I hate my body...
On the other hand I've actually been doing some art, which I haven't done in a while since I've felt crappy. So that is nice. I'm also going to find my banana bread recipe and make some banana bread in a little while.
The stained glass kaleidoscope class sounds cool
David, I'm a bit exhausted reading your update. I hope the infusion went well, and that you have chocolate cocktails aplenty.
No chocolate in my cocktails, but they were plentiful.
JZ is doing much better this morning than last time, so they seem to have successfully tweaked her cocktail with better anti-nausea meds.
Back to the center tomorrow to remove the infusion pump. Then we're getting a bonus infusion of iron on Wednesday but that should be fairly quick. Twenty minute drive there, twenty minutes to fill her with rusty nails and whatnot, stick some diagnostic fridge magnets on her and then twenty minutes home.
We watched Poker Face & Owl House last night which was exactly the right amount of entertainment.
...guys, I think I just paid for my very own real-life Saw experience. But with an included handicraft!
Ha!
That sounds like a lot, meara. I hope your parents appreciate it!
That sounds like a nice day, askye.
My dinner plans did get cancelled, so now I have to figure out what to have for dinner! I don't have enough ingredients in the house, and I don't really feel like going out, but it is getting warmer. It should get up to 15 by mid-afternoon!
That is good to hear, Hec.
Jesse, that sounds like a recipe to order awesome food in.
Steph - ha! Also, cool.
askye, sorry you're not selling 100%yet, but arting is ways good.
YAY glad to hear.
So the banana bread is going to be interesting. At some point the oven got shut off, w hich is good because I completely forgot I was baking anything. But the outside seems to be done and the interior is not. So I turned the oven back on and I'm going to hope for the best. And remember that there is something in there.
Banana bread can't be bad!
Jesse, that sounds like a recipe to order awesome food in.
It's funny, I never order in, but you are totally right.
Timelies all!
Laura, we have an admission date of the 13th. Still have forms to fill out, and there's a virtual pre-admission meeting on Monday.
