Natter 77: I miss my friends. I miss my enemies. I miss the people I talked to every day.
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
I hope they can give you something that’ll clear things right up, askye.
Today I have general housework, a haircut, and a book to pick up at the library. I’m also in research mode for a possible trip in 2024, and I often enjoy the research as much as the traveling, so that should be fun.
Nice, Calli. Planning trips is fun
Good luck at urgent care, askye.
I did work work last weekend, which is unusual, so no complaints, but I am looking forward to a chill weekend with some fun thrown in. That's my plan, anyway.
Doing a sip and paint Sunday evening with two friends, and hoping to talk Mautt into breakfast out this morning. Probably won't take much talking, really.
I have an ear infection. I'm getting antibiotics and a steroid and should be good in a few days.
I'm going to take my first occurrence and call in sick. I know I'm only working a few hours but I don't feel like dealing with any of it.
Settled into a comfy chair to finish reading the boring book before book club Monday. Dog and cat are down with relaxing although I am unclear on whether they hear the jazz playing in the background. DH has gone to Key West for a basketball tournament. He tells me that season is over Tuesday.
He has been doing the hard work of finding a car for me, as is his marital obligation. I'll make the final pick, but he does the research, talks to the dealers, and puts it all in a spreadsheet. I've looked at the 2023, but really I don't see any advantage to that over the older models and in fact Tesla has dropped some of the features in the newer models to drop the prices. Soon I hope because I kind of hate the Camry rental car.
Things are calm here as I avoid the rest of my to-do list.
~ma in abundance to all in need
Heavy fog in San Francisco this morning, and JZ and Matilda and my MiL all sleeping in.
Walked the dog, and now lounging instead of vacuuming, which I really need to do: I have had my sister's golden here for a week so I have twice as much dog hair. She had a cyst removed from her back (the dog, not my sister) and the 8-month-old puppy tore open the stitches while wrestling with her!
So she is here for her recuperation: she doesn't play with my dog, they mostly just ignore each other. Very peaceful.
I'm loafing around and reading, but later I have to run out and get groceries. Extremely exciting.
Tomorrow's plans include lunch with Dad for his birthday, and then (not with Dad) watching the Bengals-Chiefs game. I know the Chiefs are favored to win (by 1 point!), but last week the Bills were favored to win, and, well, here we are. I feel like, with Mahomes not at his best, plus the Bengals combo of Burrow and Chase, we have a really good chance of going to the Super Bowl again.
I have been alternating between reading the boring book, doing house chores, doing work work, and watching junk tv. I just finished one work chore, having previously read and watched tv it is apparently time for me to do a house chore.

Sounds like an excellent plan. I've only had fog here once, but listening to the distant fog horns was quite pleasant.

Here’s hoping. I made an orange cake for the last Super Bowl in their honor, and it was yummy, so I’d love an excuse to make it again. Plus, Midwestern solidarity, yo! It’s not like I expect to root for the Lions at the Super Bowl any time soon.
Breakfast out was good, and then I did some reading while Matt took a nap. Chill out factor for the day is in the high 90s, given a 100 point scale.
