I'm glad I'm not downtown today: I bet there are people already gathering at Oscar Grant Plaza (which is not its official name but that's what most people have called it since 2010 or so). There are probably choppers circling downtown Oakland.

Gary leaves tomorrow on his business trip. Luckily, the nanny has agreed to take Mr. S for the duration of the time. We'll pay her, of course, and it won't be cheap. Worth it for my peace of mind, at least.

Publishers Clearing House just offered me an ultraviolet flashlight for spotting pet and other stains that aren't visible to the naked eye. Who would want one of those in their house?!?

I’m staying away from the inter webs tonight. I know how bad it is without needing to know and I just hope for no additional tragedies tonight. And for any glimmer of action to stop this keep happening.

JZ’s and dcp’s good news are the true bright spots of this week and I am so thankful.

This week has sucked.

Oh, yeah. Friends of mine can stop having cancer any time now. Three in three months (just found out about the third one today) is too damned many.

I am awake because my sore throat has tmnow morphed into sore throat with severe ear pain on one side. No fever or body aches or things like that. I don't even feel that congested.

I went to double check when the walk in clinic in town opens and the answer is ...Monday. I went to check the next closest and it said they opened at 8 but when I clicked online check in the time it gave me was 9 am. So that's where I'll be in the morning.

Today I have general housework, a haircut, and a book to pick up at the library. I’m also in research mode for a possible trip in 2024, and I often enjoy the research as much as the traveling, so that should be fun.

I did work work last weekend, which is unusual, so no complaints, but I am looking forward to a chill weekend with some fun thrown in. That's my plan, anyway.

Doing a sip and paint Sunday evening with two friends, and hoping to talk Mautt into breakfast out this morning. Probably won't take much talking, really.

I have an ear infection. I'm getting antibiotics and a steroid and should be good in a few days.

I'm going to take my first occurrence and call in sick. I know I'm only working a few hours but I don't feel like dealing with any of it.
