Ah man, best wishes, Karl. Hope the world starts behaving itself better.
Natter 77: I miss my friends. I miss my enemies. I miss the people I talked to every day.
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
So sorry Karl.
So, I punched in at 8:47 and out at 5:07, thinking it would be 8 hours and 20 minutes. Minus the half-hour lunch, that would be 7 hours and 50 minutes. How is it that it is 7.83333 or 49.9998 minutes? This leaves me with a really odd number to try and get and I watched the clock! I think I am not going to sweat it at this point because I cannot figure out how to work 15.816667 hours in the next two days. Please note to do this I somehow have to figure out how to work .00002 of a minute.
I'm sorry Karl.
I'm wondering if your employer went with the cheapest option when it comes to payroll because this whole system sounds just.. like very little thought was actually put into it how the system works in the real world (or how it has worked) and so it's just been shoved out quickly and any problems are just shrugged off.

Definitely do not sweat rounding errors, Sophia! You can't be more precise than the timeclock. That drove me up a wall last time I was hourly, thinking about all the time that was wasted on making sure you clocked in and out at the right times to comply with whatever ridiculous directive was in play rather than, you know, working.
I think you are right plus it is exacerbated because my school is the only one that makes full time office employees punch. So my friend in Arts and Sciences who also moved to hourly can type in her hours each day. So while encouraged not to fudge things, if she typed 8:07-5:07, it would have recorded 7 hours, 50 minutes, not this nonsense! I think I am just not going to sweat 5 minutes either way.
Timelies all!
I'm sorry, Karl.
In addition to waking us up an hour before our alarm goes off, Mr. S decided to take off running as I was about to get in my car and drive to work. Had to wait for Gary to get dressed(he was in the shower) so he could get not-so-small boy into the house. Oy...

Still waiting to hear on the potentially good work thing. The wheels of university administration turn slowly.
I am so sorry to hear that Sophia’s time clock system was designed by Tino.

Tino was definitely handling JZ's oncology scheduling (three weeks after the CT scan).
