next up will be Shingles vax.
I got the biggest fucking goose-egg welts on my arm from the Shingles shots. I am, however, very likely an outlier who is just a delicate flower and has weird reactions. But my arm really did hurt for like a week after each shot, and the goose eggs hung around for a good 10 days after each shot. Upside: fully vaxxed; suck it, shingles!
My husband definitely felt bad after both his shingles shots, but OTOH, shingles shots.
I had no issues with my shingles shot. The needle pusher at my doctor’s office is awesome. Never a bruise from blood draws either. Don’t know how he does it. Alas the vaccines tonight are at CVS so hoping for the best.
I had no issues with my shingles shot.
I cannot overstate how much my experience needs to be seen as the extreme outlier. If my body can overreact to healthcare, it WILL overreact to healthcare. It would be funny if I didn't suspect that one day a stethoscope will stab me or something. ("But Steph," you say, "stethoscopes don't have blades!" And as I'm getting stitched up from the tiny switchblade that popped out of the stethscope being used on me, I'll just mutter "Extreme outlier, remember???")
TCG had a very strong reaction to both shingles shots but that seems to be his experience with any vaccine.
You're Healthcare Georg.
adn I should not be counted.
I didn't and don't tend to have reactions, and it always makes me wonder, "Is this thing working?"
Timelies all
I hate skimming and skipping when so much is happening to my friends.
JZ - I'm so sorry for your diagnosis and I'm glad you are getting good care. I love you and send you all the as-easy-as-possible~ma.
Pix - reading the medical descriptions is never fun. I ended up with a copy of the surgical notes from my recent hand surgery and I couldn't not read it. But man, all the references of moving nerves and such...
Sheryl - how old is Mr. S now? I can't imagine what you are going through. When H was inpatient 6 times in 14 months (very different reasons), it definitely left a mark on each of us. Be kind to yourself as you work through this.
My granddaughter, H, turned 18 today! We weren't sure if she would make it this far but are so glad she did.
The second shingles shot was painful for a few days. Didn't help that I didn't get a choice of arms so the shot went in the arm I couldn't use much.
My hand surgery has been deemed successful, at least the CMC arthroplasty of my left thumb . I'm still working on fine motor and strength but I'm out of the splint. Unfortunately the trigger release of my "long finger" didn't fully do what was needed. I got a Cortisone shot Monday and if it is still getting stuck in 4 weeks, my doc will go back in again. Luckily would be very minor compared to the surgery 8 weeks ago.
Shir, I hope Covid leaves you quickly. Tom, I hope your dishwasher and internet get sorted very soon. David, I hope your window gets repaired quickly.
I know there is so much more and I want the best for everyone.
Timelies all!
We are getting a small respite this weekend. The nanny offered to have Mr. S for a sleepover, and we took her up on it. She picked him up from school and took him to her house. She will bring him back Sunday morning.
Suzi, he's 7 1/2.
