Lorne: Snakes? Uh-huh. And they came out of your what? Okay. Okay, well, did they get up there themselves or is this part of a, you know, a thing? No, I'm not judging...Do we fight snakes? Angel: Only if they're giant. Or demons. Or giant demons. Are they giant demon snakes? Lorne: Well, unless this guy's 30 feet tall, I'm thinking they're of the garden variety.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

I just finished my second appointment with my new therapist. I like her so far, but therapy is hard and I’m now exhausted.

Always Anti-fascist!

Me too, Cash. Seriously, things were hard enough, before. And I really don't need character this badly. Sigh.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Lol Matt. But do you really WANT to fit in with them??

The other people in the bar were either throwing back shots like it was a minute to closing time, or accompanied by their shrieking kindergartners. So no, no I do not.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

I'm tired and it's Monday. Nothing else to add.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

Hello, all.

Sheryl, I hope Monday worked out well for you, considering tiredness and Mondayness.

Today is looking kinda good? I had an awkward conversation with my current manager about the possible good thing I asked for ~ma about earlier. He was supportive and it went well, and it makes me think things may be looking good for the move, since he was the one to bring it up.

On the other hand, my cat woke me up by sneezing in my face. Which a) definitely woke me up and b) made me jerk back while still half asleep and tweaked my neck. Then I had to get up to wash my face and the whole sleep concept was kind of hosed. So I could feel better.

On yet another hand, there's a flock of cedar waxwings eating berries on a tree outside my window, and I think they're nifty birds to watch. So there's that.

Thrive to spite them

I talked to Mom yesterday and she said she thought she had a cold. But this morning she texted me and said she has covid and a tele health appointment with the doctor. She's fully vaccinated and boosted and this is the first time she's gotten it so I hope it will just be really mild.

M's mom is sick. I did a covid test and it came up negative but I am going to retest tomorrow and see if I can get some new test kits from CVS.

I have been wearing masks at work but it looks like they have stopped providing them. I ordered some regular disposable ones and some heavier duty ones (I know there are 2 different types I don't remember which ones I ordered) and I'll see how I'll do. I know while I'm not having issues over heating like I was when I was taking duloxetine I'm still having issues with feeling really hot with the regular face mask. So I'll see how I do and go from there.

At least this time M's mom seems more inclined to stay in her room/in bed and not try to get up and do things. She usually picks up a grandson after school and takes him home but she's already agreed that M will do it while she's sick and she was planning on visiting a friend and has cancelled that.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I would not enjoy being woken up to high velocity kitty snot, Calli.

askye, I hope it passes quickly and easily with your mom.

Big storm gusts came in this morning and broke the French window in my nerdhole. (These are NOT the expensive curved windows that took forever to procure and fix.) Because of where we're situated on the hill, behind the open hospital space (forever known as Meara's Hospital to me now), the winds swirl and roar. This gust just yanked my latched French window outward breaking the frame and the glass.

But our contractor, Landis, is sending somebody over today to seal it off.

I want to get rid of the French windows anyway, but that's a bigger project, when we're not in the middle of a series rain rivers dumping on us.

Our wings are not tired.

Worried about so many in the way of the west coast storms. The rain pictures are very scary.

We've got ten more days of rain too. The storm systems are just packed out there like airplanes waiting to land.

Just had some rare thunder and lightning in SF.

Our wings are not tired.

We get the crazy rain totals during tropical storms, but we live on sand and it seeps away pretty quickly.
