Susan those seem like good filing priorities to me!

One of the reasons I wanted to get home yesterday was to have today to add up all my FSA receipts, which I'd left at home, so I could spend money today! I just did, and need to spend $480. Now to go order tons and tons of random sunscreen and period supplies and anything else I can find....

Good Trouble and Righteous Fights

Susan how old is Alex now?

18, believe it or not! He's still finishing up a couple of credits in high school he's missing mostly due to covid disruptions, but also taking classes at North Seattle College. He wants to study art, so the current plan is for him to take advantage of the two years of free community college available to graduates of Seattle Public Schools, then go on to either UW or Central Washington U to complete his bachelor's degree. Between the free two years and what we've got saved, he can graduate with little to no debt, which feels like just about the best blessing you can give a kid you're launching into the world.

Thrive to spite them

Susan that is an awesome blessing/gift you can give your kid!

M and I went and sushi for a late lunch thing to celebrate New Year's and now we are... doing whatever. I haven't been in a great mood, I think it might be PMS but that seems wrong but maybe it's just hormones or whatever.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

Which is disappointing for M....M's mom was like "if you put it in your name I'll pay it for you every month" but M has wisely decided not to go with that option.

Smart on M's part. You just know she'd make that a stressful thing and neither of you needs more stress.

Alex's legal name change and new birth certificate.

Good for Alex! He's 18 now? It tracks but wow. Time flies.

Between the free two years and what we've got saved, he can graduate with little to no debt, which feels like just about the best blessing you can give a kid you're launching into the world.

Quite the blessing.

Sounds like a wonderful trip, javachik! Definitely change the flight and enjoy another night.

filing cabinet (with all her genealogy stuff) was unscathed.

That's wonderful news. So much can be replaced but that cannot.

Gilda (the cat) is doing better. The Tuesday evening dose of meds ended up mostly on my hand instead of in her mouth so I figured I'd see how the night went. She's been medication free since then and things seem good.

Yay!

Today was a bit fraught. But completed everything needing to be done.

Our wings are not tired.

Cass, hope the fraught has turned into relaxation!

Susan!! 18!! I love the college plan.

I changed the flight to a red eye tomorrow night getting me home the morning of the 2nd. I took the 3rd off, so I still get nearly two full days of laundry and cleaning and catching up with the Snarflebutts.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Mr. S came into our room around 5 this morning.(He had fallen asleep after dinner last night)Between that and the fact that I'm fighting a cold(which he probably gave me), I don't know if I'll be able to stay up until midnight.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

We’re busily cooking for our New Year’s gathering tomorrow now that no one is sick.

Our wings are not tired.

Happy New Year to all!

That sounds like a wonderful and renewing time, javachik.

I had more, but I am supposed to be resting so I can stay up way past my bedtime.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

I am making no attempt to stay up.

It's been a rainy day here, but not cold, so I ran errand this morning and spent the rest of the day watching movies. Now I stumbled upon a Buffy rerun, Bewitched, Bothered, and Bewildered. I don't remember this one. I am not a re-watcher, so I haven't watched since my original viewing. SMG's skirts seem wayyy too short. OH! Harmony is wearing a DVF wrap-dress I used to also have. HA!

Looking forward to two more days off. I am going to try to catch up on Marvel and Star Wars shows that I am behind on.

Ugh. I spent an entire hour waiting in line at the pharmacy, only to find that the refill I requested earlier this week to be ready yesterday had actually not been made ready at all and they didn't have the full amount. Ridiculously they only had one guy working--and it seemed like every person there was some issue. Lots of people (including me) trying to get meds before a new year restarts deductibles and stuff. Nothing at all compared to JZ's problems but good grief.

Trying to work up the energy to make cookies to bring to a party tonight ("party" of five people). Also trying to have the energy to GO to the party since it doesn't start until 9PM. Yikes. That's usually closer to my BEDTIME.
