Happy Birthday, Theodosia and Jesse!
I'm off work until Thursday and am trying to decide what to do with myself--tons of little things that need done, so a recipe for ADHD indecision if I'm not careful
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.

aurelia, your poor grandmother! I hope things resolve quickly for her.
I’m on a train from Quebec City to Montreal, where we’ll spend a couple of days before going home on Wednesday. I’m pretty ready to go home, but not so ready that I won’t enjoy this final leg. So that’s all good.
Then I get my doggos back on Thursday. They’re with a friend who is boarding a bunch of dogs at her place way out in the burbs. All dogs she knows and at least partly to support the rescue she runs. So they couldn’t be in better hands.
Oh and happy birthdays!
Oh my gosh! That is a lot of heating issues!
Happy birthday, Jesse!
Happy birthday, Theodosia!
May everyone have internet, heat, and hot water ASAP.
maybe I really am magically immune???
That would be awesome. A happy birthday miracle, perhaps.
Happy Birthday Theodosia!
I hope they are able to get in and save the sentimental things, aurelia.
Hot water and internets are important. I hope they are all restored soon.
I have a dead hot water heater as well but that's not new. Mom added a second bath/laundry room (mostly to get the laundry out of the garage) and so I've been washing on cold. But that bathroom is large and freezing in winter so I've just been using the original bathroom. I do need to look into replacing it though.
On Christmas Eve my grandmother (and all the neighbors in her wing) had to be evacuated from their apartments because of a burst sprinkler pipe.
That happened to Bonny too. She posted a picture of her and Bartleby outside in the cold after midnight on IG.
Happy birthday, Jesse! No Covid for you! I rebuke it!
Happy birthday, Theo!
JZ is out on the couch and engaging with doctors and whatnot and sending me tutorials on how to access her MyChart and pay the mortgage.
You know how in a relationship there tends to be assigning of duties and certain people handle certain things? Turns out, it's a good idea if everybody is cross trained.
I got my run in this morning ahead of the storm. That's feeling like an accomplishment.
Heat, hot water, internet, and cable for all!
Happy Birthday to Theo and Jesse! No Covid presents!
Called today because I still hadn't gotten my MRI expedited referral for my knee. My insurance claims they never got the request, so my doctor needs to call it in again. Of course, the office is closed today for the holiday, so the soonest I can call is tomorrow, and even if he calls them immediately to expedite the request, there's no way I will get it before we are supposed to leave for our little three-day anniversary vacation, so I guess maybe I'm finally get the MRI next week? Two weeks after the injury, which I may be making worse by walking on it every day? Got to love American health care.
tutorials on how to access her MyChart
I have MyChart usernames and passwords saved for Tim and my dad, across multiple health care systems (MyChart claims that it combines all the info from more than 1 health care system, but that is a lousy stinking lie). I genuinely don't know if Tim has the MyChart info for me.
We're slowly gearing up to go to the grocery store. I am absolutely exhausted after yesterday (fuck you, long Covid), but I think getting out of the house will do me some good.
My SiL made the best gift ever for Tim and his brothers -- she saved my FiL's button-down shirts after we cleaned out his room at the retirement home after he died in February, and she incorporated them into quilts. There were a few tears, including from me.

So sweet! We had wanted to do something with JZ's dad's custom tailored shirts but after the housefire that wasn't possible. I did sneak out a couple ties and a jacket for Matilda and de-smoked them myself with a charcoal pack.
