Well some friends of Buffy played a funny joke and they took her stuff and now she wants us to help get it back from her friends who sleep all day and have no tans.

Our wings are not tired

I keep seeing directors and designers wear masks all through tech and the go without during previews.

I get that, but on the production of A Christmas Carol I just did a saw most of the cast masked during all of tech, and then on dinner break big groups of them across the street at Panera Bread sitting around a tables eating together, and the masks come of the moment they are out of the stage door.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Ended up working only about 4 hours because we just weren’t busy enough to keep everyone on for their full shifts. Which is nice for I am tired. But less sneezy and mucus-y than yesterday.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

I have an appointment at the local Apple store to see if anything can be done for my laptop.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

We have adopted two new guinea pigs, bonded sisters, one year old.

We brought Ringo into meet them, and the girls came right over to snuffle him out. They chased each other about and did some attempts at dominance but were mellow and interactive. No biting, or fighting.

They're both tricolors like Marcie and Prubs.

And their names are...Maisie and Ramona (she has punk hair hair).

Also, we met a dog there. We couldn't adopt her on the spot because she has to meet Matilda, but...we'll go back on Saturday and if she's still available we'll get her.

Owner surrender, a little more than a year old. Very sweet but anxious and sad to be without her home. A little mixy mutt with some poodle and terrier.

Fingers crossed.

I hope the laptop can be salvaged, Sheryl.

Yay for the expansion of family, David!!

Caught up on a bit of news and saw Barney Frank in Washington to celebrate with his former colleagues over the marriage bill passed today. Seriously warmed my heart to see him.

Just brought my laptop out on the balcony to read my book club book, which I have from the library system. It is a spectacularly lovely evening. 75F with cool ocean breezes. Oh, and speaking of libraries, when I went on the system to get my book I saw that they have tons of free educational stuff, including Rosetta Stone. So yeah, I signed into that too.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

Congrats on the new pets. I hope the dog works out, too, Hec.

I found out today that I was exposed to COVID on Monday. So tomorrow I’m testing. Yay.

The laptop can be fixed. They have to send it back to the repair shop. Because it was still under Apple Care, it will only cost $99.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Well, that's some good news, Sheryl.

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

Glad to hear it, Sheryl!

Hecubus, I cannot recommend highly enough this book about rescue dogs. It's worth looking at the chapter about what to do the day you bring the dog home before you even get the dog. Here: [link]

I've had 3 rescues now, and all have had their own special issues, but establishing a good foundation helps enormously. Just FYI.
