Natter 77: I miss my friends. I miss my enemies. I miss the people I talked to every day.
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
I have a cold or something but the Covid test is negative so I guess I will be working the outlet sale tomorrow (masked and gloved if they provide them, so hopefully not giving everyone else my cold!)
I was somehow expecting it to take a lot longer for Georgia to get resolved, so a little extra yay for that!

I hope at least some people continue this after Covid is declared endemic. Masking shuts down respiratory viruses decently, not entirely. And it shows the minimum level of giving a shit about other humans.
Many of my doctors reported zero flu infections during the first winter of Covid. Might be something to this hand washing and masking stuff.
I hung lights on my balcony today. I think only one other condo in my building has lights. I am quite delighted with them. I hung 5 strands of icicle lights that used to cover the entire front of my house on the balcony. I doubled them up so that if one strand died it would not leave a blank spot. Only downside is that my tree used to be real visible, but now it is barely seen through the other lights. Oh well.
I think I'll adopt some level of masking forever during flu season (and on airplanes) for sure, because, you know, I don't want flu or other things either, especially as I age, and if a mask gives me some small measure of protection out here in the wilds -- and bonus if I don't unknowingly spread my own questionable germs -- then might as well, right?
Not fanatically, because I don't have that kind of dedication in non-immediately life threatening times, but... yeah tight quarters and crowded in public indoors? For sure.
I've continued to mask in public. I don't know what point will have to be reached for me to decide to stop, but we are not there yet. Also, it looks like it will be quite some time before I use up the pack of N95s I bought. If there aren't gloves I am pretty sure there will be antibacterial stuff I can use lavishly.
I managed to work the whole day today, yay! I wasn't sure when I started this morning that I would be able to. Tomorrow will involve a lot of standing, which is more tiring, but will only be 6 hours long, so...we'll see. Probably it will be fine.
I left the blue fleece that is our uniform in my cube in Vallejo, oops. Maybe there will be one I can borrow there

And now that a lot of people aren't masking, we have the flu/Covid/RSV trifecta just going like wildfire. Ugh.
Timelies all!
Mr. S locked himself in the computer room and broke my laptop. This is the second time in a week he’s broken something of mine. To say I’m upset is an understatement.
Oh no, Sheryl. I'm sorry. I hope you guys can find some strategies that work for Mr. S.

It's like if we don't spread infections, they don't freaking spread. Wild science, I know.
I, honestly, was an idiot and did unmasked Thanksgiving. The Boy and I both fell hard to a viral foe. We were so dumb.

Ugh. It's not pretty.
I still mask in indoor public spaces. I made enough cloth ones that I can continue doing so indefinitely.
At work, masks are optional for audiences and in the upstairs offices. For anyone working with or around the actors masks are still required. I keep seeing directors and designers wear masks all through tech and the go without during previews. Yes, that's technically within the requirements, but you don't HAVE to take off the mask when an audience is there.
