Our wings are not tired.

I do think some people are more or less naturally susceptible. In my many decades of life, I have never had the flu, strep throat, bronchitis, pneumonia, or any of that stuff. And I haven't had a flu shot since the 60s. That just made me more annoyed when my vaccinated self did get Covid!

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

I just had my first unmasked face to face event with coworkers yesterday. It was a potluck. I've had every available COVID shot, so I figure if I do get it it'll be mild. And if yesterday infected me, I should be over it and largely bulletproof (virally speaking) for my plane trip to MI for Christmas.

dcp, I hope you're feeling better.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Masks are required in my building at work.

I took today off, as I have use-or-lose leave. Did some errands and had a long overdue GYN appointment. whee.

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

so far as I know, I haven't had it yet, but today I left the office early, as I am headachey and sore throaty. Covid test says "nay" but i don't really trust them anymore.

I brought my laptop home so I can work tomorrow, pretty sure I don't want to go in.

But I hope I'm not sick, because book club is this week and my sister is making the NYT cranberry curd tart. And I'm getting a birthday dinner on Friday with my nieces.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

FUCK YEAH GA!!!

I second that emotion!

I razor thin portion of Americans think that "I don't even know what a pronoun is!" is disqualifying.

I will take it and fear for our future.

Love to see it. And now Manchin and Sinema have to decide if they each can get what they want before the other goes along with the party instead of knowing they can block legislation with a “nah.”

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Can't they still work together to flip the Senate and nullify Harris' tie-breaking power?

They could (and did) do that before. But, really. if either one of them decided to do so, legislation was dead. Now they have to work together to be difficult, and the other Democrats just have to get one on board instead of both.

Thrive to spite them

I posted in Good Riddance and was like-- hopefully nothing bad happens between now and the end of the year---and a few minutes later I catch Penny peeing where she shouldn't be. She doesn't really like litter boxes and it's been raining so she hasn't gone outside and I'm assuming this is how she is showing her displeasure.

I'm glad Warnock won but that race was way too close.
