I did work stuff, and house stuff, but the major accomplishment was food stuff. I'm big on trying new things in the kitchen and tonight's experiment really worked out well.
We tend to like strong flavors in this house, and there was nothing subtle here, well maybe the base of sauteed spinach, but it was overwhelmed. I made sea scallops sauteed in butter with a chili/lime seasoning I picked up at Wild Fork to try. Then I made a random creation for the sauce from raspberries, chopped jalapenos, garlic, chili powder, and a few other things. (like adding some maple syrup to cut the heat some after taste testing) Plated the scallops over the spinach and topped with the sauce. The fire/sweet combo sauce was so tasty, and I could still taste the chili/lime on the scallops crust too. Love when it comes together so well! Happy taste buds and belly.
Ugh, Sophia. I really hope you can be pushed back on salary.
I can see where cutting back on the time you spend working might be a good idea, Sophia, but OTOH if you can work during your commute it seems silly not to (and clock in for it, of course). Maybe if working only 40 hours a week means you can’t get everything done you used to, higher ups should know that?

And they should realize you aren't paid enough!
I love Caroline Hax’s writing. It’s great to get acknowledgment from people whose work you respect!
Tree is up, and some ornaments hung. Coffee house jazzy Christmas music playing. Gray wintery day, so that matches.
Never got back to sending the card lists out, so I'll finish that up today.
Now it's lunchtime.
What are you all doing today? It's quiet in here...
Tim bought a train to go under the Christmas tree, on the theory that it will freak Murderbiscuit out so much that he'll leave the tree alone (he is literally a scaredy-cat who's afraid of seemingly inanimate objects that move independently). It's a win-win for Tim, because he's super excited about having a train to go under the tree, and if it keeps Murderbiscuit away from the tree, so much the better. So this weekend's goal is to get the tree and the train set up.

We're getting our tree and setting it up!

Ingenius!
I am picturing Murderbiscuit chasing the train!
