What are you all doing today? It's quiet in here...
We're getting our tree and setting it up!
Tim bought a train to go under the Christmas tree, on the theory that it will freak Murderbiscuit out so much that he'll leave the tree alone (he is literally a scaredy-cat who's afraid of seemingly inanimate objects that move independently). It's a win-win for Tim, because he's super excited about having a train to go under the tree, and if it keeps Murderbiscuit away from the tree, so much the better. So this weekend's goal is to get the tree and the train set up.
Ingenius!
I am picturing Murderbiscuit chasing the train!

I did some card sending and gift shopping today. It’s also gray and rainy here, so now that my running about is done, I feel good about lounging on the sofa, under the cat, near my Christmas tree. I’m reading
A Restless Truth,
and enjoying it.

Oh shit, A Marvellous Light is still in my TBR pile. I need to get on that.
Let's see, I put together an office chair for DH since putting together the desk has used up his assembly resources. Took the dog to the park to run like the wind. Oh, and had a visit from Pix and her dad, then we went to have lunch on the beach. (yes, I left the best for last)
Curled up under a blanket reading and listening to the rain

As is right and proper. My sister and dad used to set up trains at Christmas; it was so cool.

Yay, tree time!

Fantastic! I love what you wrote. And who you are.

Indeed! Love this.
Currently listening to Christmas Classics on Alexa and sending out emails. Just broke for a crossword puzzle sesh.
This morning I walked the dog in the rain, then spent an hour on the phone with my BFF (she got an awesome new job that doubled her salary and we mostly talked about that), then watched the US-Netherlands World Cup game on delay, then made a tuna melt for lunch. Next I will read a little bit in my pleasantly-clean house (the cleaners came yesterday), and then I will go to my local winery with my sister to pick up our mandatory orders for the quarter.
And then I will spend the rest of the day reading. I have to start and finish Rules of Civility by Amor Towles by Thursday at 7 PM.
