I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

And separately, IJWTS I am not enjoying today for purely petty reasons. A lot of little things have not gone my way and they are all truly little but there have definitely been a lot of them and it's wearing me down.

I'm sorry about Prubs. But I'm glad the guinea pigs were able to live their lives in a caring home.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

I'm so sorry about Prubs. It's always hard to lose a pet. It seems like we never have enough time with them.

I need to figure something out before the weather gets so nice I want to have the doors open all the time. Maybe I can add a screen door.

Maybe something like this?

Our wings are not tired.

Maybe something like this?

I have one of those screens in NY, but we are concerned about the cat having full access to the balcony. I think she has a healthy fear of heights, but if she tried to jump up on the railing it would not end well.

Thrive to spite them

I'm sorry about Prubs.

I'm having a bit of a stressful morning. There is a leak in the roof and some of my stuff has been damaged. One of the sketch books I use got completely soaked through. It wasn't even half full so I didn't lose a lot of art but there was something I was going to take out and frame as a gift for Mom or Dad.

Plus the leak is really close to the computer so I've been trying to figure out where to move that so it's out of the way but won't get water on it if the leak gets worse.

I did get some buckets under the 2 spots. The room is a mess because im a mess so I'm trying to get things moved around so stuff is out of the way of potential leaks and also if people need to move around more.

Don't know what is going to happen. There isn't money to fix the roof. I did find 2 organizations that provide assistance for people who need home repairs. M's mom called and left messages but I'm not sure if she will follow up , she has a tendency to forget she makes phone calls or needs to do certain things.

We've know the roof needed to be replaced since at least M's mom moved in. She lost her heowners insurance because last year they said she had to replace the roof and she didn't try to do anything until last month and then she only tried to get new insurance. Oh no she did replace the roof on the extension of the house that is her bedroom.

Part of me feels like I should have been more proactive in trying to find assistance for repairs because that isn't something she would have thought about. But then I think M could have done this and he has 2 siblings and uncles who could also help with trying to get a solution but maybe they tried to help and his Mom pushed aside the help. She has done that with me before where she has made an assumption about something and nothing will change her mind about it.

And I'm the Queen of Procrastination and Avoidinf Difficult Situations so I can understand how she has let things go but at the same time I'm just frustrated.

Our wings are not tired.

Thanks, Brenda, checking it out.

I'm sorry about the roof leak, askye. When Steve and I bought our house in Delray the roof leaked (the reason we could afford it!). We got up there and the two of us stapled a big tarp over the roof, and it worked! Held up until we got around to replacing the roof. This won't work on a flat roof, but on a peaked roof you just have to be sure it covers the peak area so the rain washes over the tarp rather than under it. My sister just had to get the same done (by a roofer) after hurricane Ian. It was only about $350 as I recall, which is a whole lot less than a roof, and a temporary solution. Of course, in her area the wait list for roof repair is very long.

I think there is a tarp up in the attic. I'm not sure. I've left this for others.

I'm going up to mom's because she has a colonoscopy tomorrow and I'm driving here. Came up Cesar's head and it's been raining and it's foggy. And a big ass tree came down over the road. Half of it is moved but half isn't. So I'm waiting. Not much else to do. If I turn around I'd have to back track fairly far and then go up and around the other way and my choices are that or sitting in my car in the fog listening the chainsaw.
