Our wings are not tired.

Thanks, Brenda, checking it out.

I'm sorry about the roof leak, askye. When Steve and I bought our house in Delray the roof leaked (the reason we could afford it!). We got up there and the two of us stapled a big tarp over the roof, and it worked! Held up until we got around to replacing the roof. This won't work on a flat roof, but on a peaked roof you just have to be sure it covers the peak area so the rain washes over the tarp rather than under it. My sister just had to get the same done (by a roofer) after hurricane Ian. It was only about $350 as I recall, which is a whole lot less than a roof, and a temporary solution. Of course, in her area the wait list for roof repair is very long.

Thrive to spite them

I think there is a tarp up in the attic. I'm not sure. I've left this for others.

I'm going up to mom's because she has a colonoscopy tomorrow and I'm driving here. Came up Cesar's head and it's been raining and it's foggy. And a big ass tree came down over the road. Half of it is moved but half isn't. So I'm waiting. Not much else to do. If I turn around I'd have to back track fairly far and then go up and around the other way and my choices are that or sitting in my car in the fog listening the chainsaw.

Yes, waiting seems a good choice. Have a good audiobook?

I'm sorry about the leak, askye. But if it's M or M's mother's house, it seems like they're the ones who should have been taking care of structural issues. Beyond making sure your stuff is out of the way, I don't see how it's your problem to solve.

Thrive to spite them

It didn't take that long. I pulled up the kindle app and read a bit.

I know the house isn't mine and thr problem is theirs to solve but I do live here and also I see how things get pushed to the side and I feel like I should do something.

I'm at mom's. She sent me to the grocery store to get something for myself for lunch and dinner. And while I was there at the counter to get a fried chicken plate I asked the lady helping me "How are you today?" And she said

"I'm sick but I'm here." She was wearing gloves but no mask and she didn't sniffle or look sick bur I was like "you're sick?" Yes, they are short handed....I told her "I changed my mind..." which was the best I could come up with and she looked at me and said "wow!" In that i can't believe you were so rude kind of tone. And I just walked away and got some frozen dinners.

I did find a manager and tell them what happened and said they shouldn't be calling in people who are sick but if they do then serving food isn't the best option. Or at the very least remind your employees to LIE in that situation.

"You should never say bad things about the dead, only good… Joan Crawford is dead. Good.” —Bette Davis

Busy couple of days here, I got my 30 days notice yesterday that someone has bought my apartment and I need to be moved out by the end of December. So I kicked the housing search into high gear, asked my realtor about a couple of places on my backup list, and he arranged a showing of one of them. Turns out I like this house much more than I thought I would from the listing pictures, I can really see myself living there long-term rather than just as a temporary measure like I was considering for the last house I looked at: [link]

The seller being okay with a move-in before closing is an added bonus, though I hope that's not necessary. So I made an offer today, the seller counter-offered, and I'm accepting and signing the contract this afternoon. Looks like I'm going to be a homeowner!

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

How exciting, Matt!

"Please stop sneezing on my fried chicken," doesn't seem like a big ask.

Has anybody been watching Warrior Nun on Netflix? Sepinwall is asking for favorite shows from 2022 over the last year and it's getting a lot of love in the comments.

Looks a bit Buffy-ish.

Oh, wow, Matt! I hope everything keeps going smoothly! I like the look of it and how wonderful that it is better in person. How exciting!

I have seen some mention of Warrior Nun from someone, Tep, maybe> Possibly even here in the Streaming thread? Have not gotten around to checking it out myself but I had it in the back of my mind of something to try

I let my FitBit that I use as a watch run out of charge and thus did not realize the time this morning and did not actually get out of bed until after my first meeting of the day had started Whoops! Was only a few minutes late and it didn't seem like I missed much so I think it's okay, but I am embarrassed. So of course I had to tell someone.
