Yes. Men like sports. Men watch the action movie, they eat of the beef, and enjoy to look at the bosoms. A thousand years of avenging our wrongs and that's all you've learned?

Woe to the fucking wicked.

He likes the airplanes, but jet lag is tough. He got 2 2-hour jumps, a week apart, which I hope helps make it less awful. He's also exhausted.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Hugs to you and them, Kate. This is our first holiday season without my grandfather, and it is hard on all of us but ltc is taking it especially hard.

I took today off, but ended up in an hour-long phone call this morning anyway.

that said, I ran the dog, did laundry, and made a bunch of pie, and cranberry sauce. And then I watched the finale of Andor which is amazing and moving and everyone should watch it.

Our wings are not tired

It's really considered rude to nod off during tech rehearsals for a show that I'm designing. I just need to make it through Act 2 of A Christmas Carol.

I did a crap ton of work, made a pie, made cranberry sauce, and am dyeing my hair.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

I made the Waldorf salad, and the apricot-ginger glazed sweet potatoes will come out of the oven soon. Then the turkey roulade goes in, and the timing kicks into gear. 30 minutes to put the extra dressing in the oven, 25 more to get the asparagus steaming and the sweet potatoes back in the oven so they come out hot with the rest, then the gravy, and then I should be done with cooking.

I made mashed potatoes... 10 lbs. Put them in a crock pot and taped it so we don't have any mishaps on the drive. Hoping they heat up again in time for dinner when we get there -- they'll have about an hour and a half, and they started hot, so here's hoping it works.

Hoping you all enjoy your days!

Wow that is a lot of mashed potatoes!

I realized there will be no sweet potatoes at the Friendsgiving I’m going to. I am slightly disturbed by this.

I was going to go to a Turkey trot but woke up with a headache. Took a shower, had breakfast, took the dog for a walk, still in some pain, debating what steps to take next.

Took the rental pup for a run in the woods and now I need to get moving: gonna make most of the stuffing at home before heading over to E's house. There's only 2 of us but I have a full pumpkin pie plus multiple mini maple-pecan pies.

Punishingly Intricate

Made a cauliflower salad and mushroom gravy last night. Roasting carrots now and then heading out to my parents’ in Frederick where I’ll roast a wee turkey breast and Bob will shuck oysters. Then headed to my brother’s family where they are making all the other things. It’s just the 7 of us which is still so odd. Pre-pandemic we’d always celebrate with the whole 40 or so members of my Mom’s family or a good half of them. But it’s too hard for my Dad to travel back up to Delaware now. We’ll have a good feast today but it’s still a bit sad.
