I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Aw, Cindy, lovely pictures! I'm so happy for your family!

Punishingly Intricate

Congratulations, Cindy and family!!!

Unlimited PTO is so much more sensible. I hate the nickel and diming of other types of paid time off.

Man, when I went from being salaried to being hourly with the same PTO I really noticed the nickel-and-dime chipping away at my accruals. Timeclocks are the devil.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

I have unlimited. As a manager I’m constantly harping on people to take their PTO. Our never rolled over so I especially want people to make sure they take their time.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

If I had unlimited time off, I would have taken even less! Actually, since I've been here five years, I can now roll over 6 weeks at a time, so there is no external incentive to take time off. (I am planning vacations! I am OK!) We get 4 weeks vacation, at least a week at year-end, and a million holidays.

Yeah, I feel like I would second guess myself with unlimited!! The amount I have now is pretty good but after this year we won’t be able to carry over, so I will have to take 37 days next year! Which is nothing compared to my European colleagues, but still.

I get 3 weeks of vacation and 8 days sick time a year, all the sick time rolls over indefinitely and up to 6 weeks of vacation rolls over. Next year I'll have been here 10 years and vacation will go to 4 weeks. If I had unlimited I don't know how I'd decide that I must take time off, having my accruals get high is a good reminder! I'm bad about not taking time off because I know what a burden it is on the rest of my team and/or how much will just pile up waiting for me to get back, but with this new organization, whatever it turns out to be, maybe that won't be such a factor? We shall see.

Anyway, have done my chili judging and made my microwave stuffing for the Thanksgiving potluck and this is just going to be a day of Too Much Food

37 days! Every Friday off all year, almost, maybe, with holidays and whatnot.

It is harder with unlimited. I go by the days that we used to get as a guideline

Our wings are not tired

I do unlimited for my company. Part of making it work is that it really needs to be modeled and pushed from the top all the way down. Every time we come off a busy period I encourage all of my staff to book the time off. Then we all make sure that when someone is out, we guard that time for them, so they can really relax, and so they aren't coming back to a massive pile of stuff.
