One of the problems with the Georgia Senate election going to a runoff is that the emails from the Warnock campaign will NEVER stop. I'm still getting like 5 a day from them.
I did throw them some $$ for the runoff, knowing that this will likely make them send me MORE emails since I've now proven that I can be persuaded.
Yeah, I am braced for more emails and I do feel like I ought to give some money but I kind of want to avoid doing it by clicking on anything from those emails...incidentally, I have a spam message saying something about "a STARK warning about Social Security" and my first thought was "what has Iron Man done now?" so I still have that going for me
"a STARK warning about Social Security"
Winter is coming...for your retirement savings?
Oh, man, that's pretty believable
Hey, Cass. It's been a rough couple of years, but I do manage to look in here pretty frequently. Not a lot of energy for posting, but it's very soothing to have a bunch of long-beloved friends inside my phone.
I'm glad you're home, Daniel.
Yay check, askye!
We don't have final numbers of voter turnout for my county, but 29% went to early voting. I know at least one person who voted on Tuesday, so that number's bound to go up.
Voter turnout for my county was 49%. Interestingly one state rep I voted for only lost by 15 points which is really good since every other dem lost by at least 30 points. I wonder if her opponent is especially unpopular or she has more appeal than other dems.
My county has gone up to 34%, so it might keep going up, I don't know.
I don't know what the actual turnout figures were, but a week before the election early voting had gone up 22% from the 2018 midterms in my county.
In other news, a project that really had me worried has fallen through, so Yahoo! We also lost out on one that I thought was a sure thing and would likely have run extremely smoothly, which I'm not so jubilant about, but the silver lining is that between the two I'm now freed up to personally run Production on some books that I feel very proprietary about and would have hated to turn over to someone else.
