Natter 77: I miss my friends. I miss my enemies. I miss the people I talked to every day.
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
...lots of signs about what to do and not to do. And one informing everyone that per SC law you can only be at a polling station for a max of 3 mins. I didn't know there were legal time limits.

In a somewhat expected, but still stinging news, the people who bought my former house are tearing it down to the ground. Like everything, all the trees, the pool, the foundation, everything. All that work that DH did with the floors, closets, kitchen and baths, the pool and patio. All going to dirt. They are building some mansion of some kind. Also sad to say that my first thought was that it was the same thing that Bobby did to my family. So I'll be working on letting it go today.
Oh no, Laura!
Yikes Brenda! Glad everyone got out safe and your house was unharmed. That is not an ideal way to start a morning.
Fingers crossed that everything goes well for Prubs.
Oh Laura. That’s awful.
Three minutes is way too short! Im curious about the intent. At first I thought it was so someone couldn’t clog up the polls by lingering. But I can think of more nefarious reasons too.
We have like 1,024 judges on our ballots. 3 minutes? It is to laugh.
Yikes, brenda!
That sucks, Laura!
The poll workers were commenting about how busy it was today, which should be a good sign.
I have a day off from work today, since I’m a city employee. I was going to buy a camera off of craigslist today, but the seller flaked out on me.
I'm going to vote after work, by which time I hope this goddamn migraine goes away. Our polling place keeps moving, and (amusingly) getting closer and closer to our house. In 5 years it might be in our living room, which would make voting SO EASY, for me at least.
brenda, that's terrifying. So very glad you're all right, and I'd put another bottle of whiskey through the router for your neighbors if I could.
Laura, I share your pain - Ken was in Salt Lake a few weeks ago and walked past our old bungalow. He chatted with the people working on it, and they let him inside - all the original woodwork I'd restored, the tile work I did on the fireplace and the bookcases I'd built with my dad were gone. So was the Wedgewood stove Jim had restored for me as an anniversary present. My garden was gone. I cried for a solid five minutes.
My NY sister is worried about the governor's race there, a lot. My FL sister tells me my brother and his wife voted, so that cancels out our votes. I'm wearing a blue shirt, maybe that will help.
Oh, amyparker, that is so rough.
DH took some pictures of the yard, and it was a mess. He said the roses were thriving, as they seem to love neglect. Hard to see with all the weed growth though.
My FL sister tells me my brother and his wife voted, so that cancels out our votes.
You’re cancelling out theirs.
